    LB7/ZF: What to get?

Hi Nick :smile5: I have a predator sitting in the truck......I cant stand it. I read a lot of good things about guys running them in the auto trucks, but with the ZF, the power comes in real abruptly. Even at 40 hp it was a real handful in stop and go traffic. Tx for the info on the...

    LB7/ZF: What to get?

This is going on a 2002 6 speed truck..... I had a van Aaken box, 0-70-150. I always ran it on 70 and it never slipped the clutch and I was very very happy with it. Gave good power, good mileage. Well, the box took a dump, truck ran like it had 4 cylinders. I called around, was told that...

    Farming Thread:

OK, I looked close, cannot see any clipping. I planted 4 plots about 2 weeks apart each, so I've still got to watch for it. Another corn question.....after my first batch set ears, it seemed to lose about a foot or two of height. The ears set about 1-2 feet off the ground, but the top of...

    Farming Thread:

Thanks for the well answers.... FWIW....I planted sweet corn (in waves) starting about 2 months ago. Tallest stuff is 5 ft, shortest stuff if 6". Should be good! What fertilizer do you typically use and when? I hit it with a little 25-26-18 early, and just some nitrogen lately.......if it's...

    Hay Preservative

Are you trying to preserve it from molding? Seems like proper storage might be the best method there..... Other than that, vitamin E is good at preventing oxidation..... ?

    Farming Thread:

I've got a well question..... Now that I'm working at a packinghouse, I get out and get to talk to a lot of growers.....I talked to a big grower that was lucky, running his operation (200+acres of avocados @ 4-6 acre feet of water per acre per year) on his wells. Several wells, in the 500 gpm...

    Bio Diesel Prices - Confused

Yes...it is the weirdest thing too..... The truck will get superb mileage on B80++, I managed to get 22+ on a tank of all highway, cruise at 65. This was with the Van Aaken box, which failed a few months ago and was not replaced with anything. Since it advanced the timing, I may find that...

    Laptop battery fires

I had a problem with my new mac laptop about 2 yrs ago. It was a new machine at the time, and the battery got very, very hot. Luckily I shut it down and took out the battery. Called mac and they said there was a battery recall, sent me a new bat, fine since.

Motor oil in your diesel fuel

KBcolt....I agree. The trucks will run on a lot of things in the short term, but we are unaware of what the long term effects may be. I'm no expert, but it seems like burning used motor oil would have a lot of junk in it that could build up and cause problems. Two stroke oil seems fine...

    Bio Diesel Prices - Confused

Don't make the mistake of thinking that BD is all the same price. I have found over $1 / g difference just by shopping suppliers. They all have different feedstock's and economies of scale, far more fragmented than the petrol diesel industry. For instance...last time I bought B99 it was 45...

Sorry....didn't see this till now Not sure how many bushels, we go by pounds and specific fruit size. Filled, they weigh about 1000 lbs each. 4x4.5x4 It takes me a long time to fill one by myself.....I can tell you that much. :cornut:

    Lets See Them

Cool stuff..... I am envious of you guys with the big machines. Just a wee Bota here...43 hp and a 10k # hyd winch on the front. Just a few avocados here.......26 bins, about 1/3 of last years harvest.

    Do you maintain your ride?

Everything but warranty work (now no more) new tires and alignment. Same goes for the TDI. Had the trans out last wknd to put in a beefy new clutch. Not fun, but cheap.
