You should consider doing some research on compounds. There's more to it then just bolting on a small turbo and a big turbo. You can start by checking out the compound thread on the dieselplace web site
12psi is about the max you want to run with stock turbo assuming the engine is all stock, after that the exhaust back pressure becomes real high and adds stress to the motor.
I would think you have a bad waste gate solenoid, sounds like it's sticking open and not closing when it should. You...
I have thought of using the nv4500 to replace the 5lm60, eventually maybe if the 5lm60 blows up. I'm not looking to do burn outs, just looking for economy for now.
I really want to put a 6.2 diesel in my truck, currently powered by a 305. My truck is a 5 speed, the 5lm60. It shifts nice and smooth. Will this transmission mount to a 6.2 diesel and handle it with no problem? The 6.2 will be kept n/a until I can afford to turbo it.
If they do bolt and work...
Great start! I still need to get around to sending you those injection lines, was busy with a move, got sick and then just got hit with almost a foot of snow!
Sorry I think I made a mistake. Are you talking about the flex plate to converter bolts or flex plate to crank bolts? I was talking about the converter ones. The truck I was refering to was my '96 6.5 automatic
Got back home a short while ago from napa, luckily the owner was there and he made sure the new u joint was properly installed. I checked it good myself and it looks good.
Will install the shaft back in the truck tomorrow.
I just took out the drive shaft, looks ok. One end cap is still in the drive shaft and the rest of the u joint is in the yoke. What I think happend is the c clip came out and allowed the end cap to vibrate out.
I called napa this morning, told them about what happend. They said bring the driveshaft and they will swap in a new u joint free of charge.
I'm just gonna have to closely inspect it before I put the shaft back in
