That is what my gauge needed. I took the part that gets screwed into the manifold to the hardware store and found that is what I needed. I'm sure every brand is different.
It seems to be working. I am reading less than 250 at idle and when I accelerate it seems to be anywhere from 350-450 depending how fast i take off. I floored it a few time and I think it went as high as 650 but I only floored it to about 55mph from like 30mph. Right now boost is at 7psi WOT.
The sensor is about 2" under the turbo mounting flange. It's just in the front on the manifold not on the side where everyone else puts it. I just hope that's a good area.
I installed VDO boost and pyro guages yesterday. I tried so hard to get the fender out so I could get to the area needed to drill and install the thermocoupler but it just would not come down. So instead I put it in the front area of the manifold right before the turbo. I will take pics of it...
Finally Bought Some Gauges
Last night I bought some VDO gauges as a present to myself. I'm finally gonna know how much boost i'm running with this TM. Anybody have any tips on how to install a pre-turbo pyro without removing the turbo. I've read that you can leave the truck running and drill it...
I have them on my wifes tahoe(2wd). I bought them because of affordability with a good name behind them. They have a stiff sidewall but still ride good. She drives it more than me and she hasn't complained yet. We put the pirelli's on after out Goodyear Eagle LS tires wore out.
BTW the size...
Thats what I think mine was too. It always starts good and fast and the time it set the code was when I was leaving work. I started it up and it started "Hunting". I had to give it the go pedal to get it to stop. Then I noticed the light was on. Hasn't done it since. Hopefully yours is just a...
mine did the same thing a few weeks back. Scared the crap out of me cuz I can't afford a IP. I cleared it and 2 weeks later I changed my fuel filter and noticed my LP was out. Coincidence, probably but the code hasn't come back since.
Todd, what was the weather like? When I had my old 2000 Z71 i would usually get 13mpg on a road trip. One day the same road trip I got 10mpg because of wind. Just a thought.
