Like said above if you were to use a standalone for the trans you would be fine. PCS has one for 850 that is fully programable by the end user. I don't think you can use.
The marine 4-roller DB2 does sound very nice!! I mean, isn't that the same pump penninsular uses on thier 400hp twin turbo...
Yes, 100" is too long.
Whe you put it on, the tensioner is already at least halfway out of adjustment. That's why I think it needs a shorter belt, lets say 99".
I put the new belt on, drove home to VA, about 450miles one way, spent 4 days there, drove back to SC and then remembered to...
100" is the one I ordered from heath, as is the one I bought from the parts store. IMO 100" is too short. Once you install it, it looks fine until you start it up, then it goes to about half maybe a little more on the tensioner adjustment scale(don't know what it's really called). I think I'm...
I'm not really worried about the power loss. I think the benefits outweigh the bad in this case. The ally is far superior to the 4l80e. My trans might be fine anyway, i'm just planning for the future. And if I do swap to an Ally, I already have a home for the 4l80, it will be built up and put in...
There are two companies that make a controller for the allison, one is PCS an the other is DESTROKED. Destroked is $1500 for the 5sp and the 6sp is not posted on his site yet. But PCS is around $850. All they need is inputs from rpm, tps, and speed I believe. But they both come with everything...
The way i'm looking at it is if I take it to get rebuilt or buy a refurbed or rebuild unit it is gonna be around $2500. For a little more I can probably get the Allison 6sp and put it in myself and then have a sweet overdrive that I will probably never have to worry about and like I said before...
I don't think it needs a lift. I've heard both sides of this argument and to me I don't think it will need to be lifted. If so then I will just convert to electric fans and that should take care of it.
I would love to be able to cruise at 80mph @ 1900rpm):h
I don't know. I bought the truck with 123k on it, i now have a little over 130k. I think it was the first time. it had the metal pan gasket with o-ring on it when i took it off. No filter kit i've ever bought came with a gasket like that, usually either cork or rubber gaskets.
When I bought...
I thought about that too, but I changed my filter a few months ago and this is what it looked like. To me, that looks like a lot of material.
Here is the pan as it was when I pulled it:

Well, my trans is pissing me off, sometimes it shifts fine and then other times it will slide it's lazy ass into gear, more than not this is the method it uses. I've been through a lot of transmissions in my previous vehicles so I have had them rebuilt by shops, bought some off the 'bay and even...
This is the same reason I have not bought new shocks yet. I eventually want to lift my truck at least 6 inches. If I spend 300-400 on shocks that puts me farther away from the lift. I have talked to my wife about it and she agree's with me:D. Now if I could just find the money somewhere!
If...
I would def get a second opinion. I don't trust shops at all. I used to work in one and I know how they work. A buddy of mine took his explorer in to get brakes done. They told him he needed front rotors and brake pads all around. They wanted over $500 to do it. He brought it by my house and I...
I don't know for sure the exact gallons, but everytime I fill up I put 26gal in it. Now I usually fill up below 1/4 tank left according to the gauge so I have always assumed I had a 30gal tank. I would find out for sure but I'm too scared to take the fuel down to the "E".
When this one stretches I will take my receipt and get the shorter one. Mine has never made any noise, I happen to notice it though, being out of adjustment. I just can't believe they stretch that fast. They don't make stuff like they used too.
I don't know that pump very well but most pumps are made to push and not pull. I burned up a brand new pump by puting it on the side of the inner fender in a older truck. It didn't like having to pull the fuel that far. It got real hot.
I think it needs to be closer to the tank. But I don't...
I could feel and here mine running too but it was bad. I found out when I changed my fuel filter. I couldn't get any fuel to come out of the bleed valve on top the filter. Just crack the valve open and have someone turn on the key, it should squirt out like ole faithful. If it doesn't or just...
