Maybe you could find/make a pigtail connection for two PMD connections to wye into one. Then use the old one (which hopefully works) mounted on the IP as a backup.
Would one interfere with the other? Would you need to isolate them with a switch?
What you're suggesting isn't going to happen on a 10 year old vehicle, unless you mastermind the thing yourself.
Most folks are doing just what you suggested by having a spare PMD in the glovebox! If you have an external location, and you can unplug and replace in 30 seconds longer then it...
You may need to clean the threads for the GP's. There is a tap (I bought one from one of the guys here) to dress those threads. I would not force the GP in any way. If it won't start by turning by hand you need to address the problem or you will have bigger problems.
If your socket causes...
The GP controller, if I remember correctly, is located in the block back by the firewall. It cost nearly $200 to replace. If you attempt to remove it and it breaks off you'll have a difficult time finishing the removal, and have a water leak to boost. Just leave it.
Install the manual switch...
If it actually has only 30 hours on it, I wouldn't care if it was an '01 or an '04.
In Kansas we're suppose to register ATV's so we can pay the state property tax. So the older the less tax, yet it's a good running machine. Best of both worlds.
I've got an '84 and it has the spade GP's and it's 12 volts, stock. I would only use BERU GP's.
IIRC there is a helpful forum: FTE forum. You'll find alot of good info. including the wire diagram.
The reason I mentioned injectors is because the truck I have was diagnosed by a mechanic as having a cracked flex plate. I eventually replace the injectors and noise went away.
Mech. said PO brought truck to his shop complaining of noise up until about 1500 RPM, then they didn't notice it. He...
Owning this truck is like having a child. Something different every day!
On a different post I mentioned my fuel gauge problem is solved. FSU & gauge both bad. So now I'm working on this wrinkle.
I'm thinking maybe clean the grounds (to be sure) on the pass. side near firewall on...
I notice the needle movement on the volt meter, when the turn signal is on the meter dips. Is this a typical symptom of mid 90's vehicles or is it caused by bad grounds?
Matt, on another post on this BB someone mentioned "Bio-con" as a highly recommended algae fixer. If you do a google search of that product perhaps they make one for your situation.
I was going to remove the bed to replace the fuel sending unit. Upon seeing the position of the bolts and the lack of room for wrenches I opted for dropping the tank.
FSU reads from o-172 ohms with no consistency and many open spots. The shaft that holds the rotating arm of the float has...
Not harm meant. I was just making sure no one was asleep at the switch.
In Canada do you have constant concern with algae growing in your fuel tank? "x /year treatments of biocide to keep my tanks all spanky"
I have used fuel well over 10 years old. I started a crawler once by pulling it...
I think you can go to their web site and download what ever is available. You can also print out directions.
I use it on my 01 dodge, but it does not read fuel pressure for the cummins (as far as I know).
My chevy is '95 is it does not apply to it.
