LOL, TD, I appreciate you not telling me then!
JiFaire : I spent a year in Stony Plain. Now I am back. Need I say more? LOL. Still love Alberta, just the weather was a bit wacky and cold for me. Not to mention, where I live, a 10-30 minute drive will bring you any number of lakes with...
one of my exhaust setups, i used a dyno pak cherry bomb. 4" ports, and it flared out to 5" throughout the middle. a little baffling on the side, but overall, basically a free flow setup. it was for legalization only. it was a little quieter than the truck is now, but still plenty of spoolup...
TurbineDoc, please tell me you aren't serious about the weather? :rolleyes5:
i don't know how many americans i have met that think we have snow year round. hmmm. i got a great idea. hold a 6.5 rally in the Okanagan valley this august or september. that way you will all get to see what it's like...
when my 6.5 had clutch issues, i had it towed home. the deck truck was 95 five speed 6.5
I was scared watching the guy pull the corner into my driveway. my truck was causing his to lean far enough over that i thought it would roll. i am going to guess GCVW was well over 17,000 lbs
Hmmm, but wouldn't you wonder as to why he would be 30% cheaper?
I will agree, that when I first got into 6.5's and my dad's 95 had issues, he was very helpful via e-mail. Seems since then he has dropped in ratings.
And he has been far more critical of any other 6.5 vendors than anyone I...
thanks for the info, i will probably give him a call tomorrow. doing a bigger job right now, and almost have the debts paid off, so i might be in a position by next week to orders some of the bigger stuff.
JiFaire: Most of my experiences have been with UPS. I had ordered a 3" downpipe from SSD for $80. The shipping and "brokerage" fees came out to another $78.
My pyro and boost gauges I bought for $220. Fees were $90.
So, who should I ship with?
It is still a five to six hour trip down...
Just to reinforce the point made here. While the 6.5's do have somewhat of a bad name for failing, all the problems can be fixed and you can get back a respectable truck for much less an investment that a newer rig. If you are simply looking to get a diesel, the 6.5 is probably one of the best...
Okay, so this is in response to the lightweight thread. Post up your numbers for how much weight the truck has had. Both in box only, and trailer weight.
I once towed a full sized semi sandtruck out of a ditch. Driver didn't think I could do it. ):h
Truck with box weight @ 12,500 lbs. Semi...
There is a local diesel performance shop that I really like. Young husband and wife run it. Was in there yesterday getting some thing priced out.
ARP head studs would be $327
Pete Jackson timing gears would be $720
Is there anywhere this side of the border that I can get these things...
plowboy, nice job. i will be changing how i mounted mine soon. i like your's much better. looks cleaner. i'm wanting to do the pillar pods soon. oil temp, air pressure, and fuel pressure. getting a snow w/m system with the onboard controller which i am thinking i will mount from a ceiling...
