getting great boost with the vacuum

no dice. I finally had her out on the road today. No boost and the ses light is blinking on and off every once and a while. I will pull the codes soon. I was running at 65 mph 2200 rpm, no boost showing. I switched the hoses back the way I had it and no codes. Still sitting at 5-6 lbs cruising...

getting great boost with the vacuum

I swapped them around for a short run: had to get a christmas tree. I had to put the petal down hard and it hit maybe 2 or 3 lb by 3000 rpm. Was not boosting on normal starts, but no black smoke anywhere. SO it sounds like they were swapped. I bought a napa unit before I had the guage and...

getting great boost with the vacuum

bottom (yellow) is running to wastegate. And what is that connector that has nothing on it? a test port, I hope!

getting great boost with the vacuum

In relation to the bracket on the solenoid, which feeds the wastegate? Boost somewhat follows the pedal, so backwards hookup makes sense, as I would think the pump side would increase vacuum as rpms increase. I have 8 to 10 lbs with mild accelleration (2100 rpm on a 3.73 rear) I hold boost of...

getting great boost with the vacuum

And it maintains, as it always sets a check engine light on the one hill I will hit tonight. I guess I can finally see what it hits.

getting great boost with the vacuum

I am interested to see what I do on the interstate. It holds 8 at 2100rpm climbing this hill into town at 45... not accellerating, sustaining, having dropped from higher (12?) It is much higher than I expected to see. I will let you all know. It will be Friday, as I do not think my MIL has...

getting great boost with the vacuum

So I got my guage on. I am seeing higher boost numbers than I thought. I have a stock vacuum system with a new solenoid. The boost seems to increase with the petal, hard acceleration runs it up to 15 pretty easy. It sits at 6 to 9 climbing hills at 2100 rpms and seems to be very steady. I...

    removing old viper alarm system

Wow. it looks like a squirrel installed it as a place to hide nuts. Crazy. There is a button wired to it right above my e-brake... any ideas on that? override? reset?

A couple of questions for the experts

I just dropped my tank. It isnt too bad. I feed a hose into the tank, put it in a 5 gallon fuel tank, turn on my shop vac and create some suction. Pulls the fuel right out. Disconnect the guage sender in front of the tank on the top of the cross beam above your drive shaft. Then disconnect the...

    What Typically Kills the 6.5?

    removing old viper alarm system

anyone want to take a stab? where do they usually mount/tie in to the truck systems? I guess I can search to see what I can find on late 90's viper equipment. I was just hoping someone here had insight.

    removing old viper alarm system

Where do I look for the receiver to identify the alarm system and possibly remove it. I like the door clicker, I guess, but it makes me paranoid. And I leave the keys in the truck most of the time. I have a rottweiler. very reliable alarm. :hihi: point me in the right direction?

How do I tee into the MAP for my boost gauge?

I have seen a few pictures of people with a t on the IAT on the right. Several folks have advised against it for reasins of taking the IAT out of the airstream and possibly changing its ground. Disconnect the wires, unscrew. Screw in the t fitting, put IAT on top and boost fitting on side...

buying fuel tank for 95 burb

The tank I have on it now does not have the baffle either. I ordered the $165 one from ebay. I have a new sender to go in it from when I dropped it the first time and discovered it was imploded. I will just not run it under 1/4 tank. My biggest curiosity is where it is leaking. I guess I will...

    6.5 In A Ranger

I do miss my ranger sometimes. I had an 04 with the 4.0l in the fx4. It was a great little truck. Did great in the snow and ice with weight in the back. Take that truck and put the 6.5 in it... hmmm....

buying fuel tank for 95 burb

So I pulled my tank to replace the sock several months and learned that my tank was imploded. At the time, I wanted to work on other issues, so I just rigged the intake, and reassembled the whole thing, and refill before the tank gets low. Now the tank is leaking from somewhere, so I figured...
