I was checking out my 7 pole plug today, all my poles check out except left turn.
I pulled the flat 4 pole plug apart (underneath that feeds it). I have voltage on the truck side. I test continuity from the other half of the plug to the receiver pole, good continuity.
I hook it back up...
I forgot that thread tells you how to check, but not what it means. The list of DTC codes (which I got to in the 6.5 tech library under the definitions is here.
And you are getting a DTC code of 12... (first number of flashes is first digit, pause, second digit, long pause), this would repeat 3...
I really like this site and the input and I respect the members and vendors and know that folks are trying to encourage a "best" practice, but I really did feel like every thread that was trying to figure out real solutions for people willing to work at this was peppered with "just buy from a...
go to frozenboost.com and get the entire list of what I put on the other thread. seal threads with pipe dope like RDM. Take your chances.
I think I am going to. Let me know how it goes. Technically the threads are a weird metric piece that seals with a o ring... but several have done other...
nice rotty sparky. I got an old boy myself. pushing 8 now. Loyal buggers. He is bored with mechanic work. His crate is in the shop and has tools spread on top of it. sometimes he comes and watches if the gophers arent out....
I hear you all on the kit. I do not doubt its quality. I read raceday mechanics thread and it seemed like it was set up right and prices $100 under the kit. I was not aware that it was a different thread. And it sounds like my 1995 may not be the same size on the cooler (a little smaller).
I...
Do any of you great minds know if the fittings on a 1995 block are 1/2" or 3/8? I read it can be either. I may just order both for an extra $8 if no one knows
From Frozen boost:

No update yet. I have been out of town and not driving the beast much. I hooked up my egt while doing this and it is looking good. Truck seems to drive better on the top end... acceleration from 55 up is a lot quicker to me seat of pants.
We will see on the fuel mileage.
I will say, I did the...
I would totally agree with chris on buying the socket. I have the regular one and I would be faster with the better one, mainly for the ability to use a wrench on the top.
The #2 was a bitch, #4 was worse. I dropped the wheel well and the down pipe, turbo bolts were tough, so I started...
What bracket is this? I will have to look.
Luckily, I started this job before Christmas and ran out of time (fixed coolant leak on crossover instead, then flu and no time for injectors). So I have had the wheel well out. I did the glows last year and I think I got all the grounds.
I started...
I bought the bosch injectors from ebay... dennis. money something. there is a thread. If you cant find it, I can give you a link. They have all tested @2100 pop. great price. $200 ish. I bought them a few months ago. Just now getting to install.
got an install kit from pensecola diesel..
Drivers side done. Fired her up. Sounds great. Now doing the hard side.
Anybody have a dwarf, 2 monkeys and a few smurfs to spare?!
I started from the top without pulling anything. I think I am going to pull the wheel well and turbo tomorrow and try to finish.
The job really isnt...
Thanks for all the suggestions and threads. I am finally kicking this flu thing, so I went out this morning to work on the burb.
I had put pb blaster on it when I left it. I heated the crossover, hammered the EX7 extractor in, and eased on it with a wrench and helper bar.
I got my miracle, as...
Yeah, aces, I got that extractor. I am one size up (ex-7, think you had a 6), but it bites good, the metal just gives before it turns. The corrosion is strong.
I am going to try gently chipping after my last shot with the extractor.
thanks for the heads up on the take offs if I hose this one...
I am venting I guess.
I have the big extractor in there, but it is not keeping hold. The crap metal shears before it can move the threads. So I am holding pressure, gently tapping with a hammer. Heated the crossover with a torch. cursed at it. prayed for it. laughed at it.
Still that...
Mine was blowing coolant out from the threads, so I tried to get it out. snapped off and now am trying to get it threaded. there is no room in there to work.
I have a 1/2 npt tap, but no drill bit. Argh!
Think I can use progressively bigger taps to get to where I can get the 1/2" in there, or...
If you really want an answer, I believe it is because the text rides between data blocks on the query signal to the tower. It does not require the bandwidth of a call.
I have an old HTC wizard/ cingular 8125 that I unlocked and zapped the ROM with a new cooked version from the web. Works...
