What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

you can leak test it by connecting an air regulated air supply to the line at the manifold end with a shut off valve. fill with 15-20 psi air pressure and let it sit for a bit. does the plastic tube at the gauge end use furls but nothing inside the tube to prevent it from crushing shut? I...

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

You mentioned that your boost gauge is actually measuring exhaust gas pressure? it took me a bit to think about it, but if there is a leak in the tiny tube up near the gauge, how exhaust gasses could make it's way into the gauge it's self causing the coiled copper tube inside the gauge to...

    Remote Control Door Lock Receiver

I like to use this to test and tune my stereo. if yours can play all the frequencies of base without distortion it'll be pretty close to "Dam Good"

Hello 1997.5 Hummer H1 in Southern California

iirc there were some failures due to a bad batch of timekeepers being marked incorrectly on the timing alignment marks. I believe that saga has been corrected now. others can chime in with more knowledge about that.

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

That seems a quite long run to clear out the smoke in a 75 deg cold startup. my 93 which has profuse blow by and just plain worn out engine will only puff smoke a couple seconds. seems like maybe injectors are leaking down into the cylinders overnight? I'm told that 75 degrees and the...

    Remote Control Door Lock Receiver

Glad you found it! curiosity has me wondering what that blown fuse was labeled as. take the old one out and verify if it's a normal speaker or some oddball that GM uses. you can use an ohm meter to check if it's a 2, 4, 8 ohm. if it's a sub, 4 and 8 ohm are available new, its the 2ohm that...

    Remote Control Door Lock Receiver

Possibly, idk what power wattage a factory amp is, but most aftermarket amps use a fairly hefty fuse. I would double check all the fuses, engine bay and in the cab. I have see where simple fuses like one for the cig lighter blown caused other things not to work that weren't on the diagram...

    Remote Control Door Lock Receiver

There isn't a separate fuse for the amp possibly? other than that, I was thinking that maybe one of the audio channels from the stereo might be shorted from a possible crossed wire at the splices. it is possible that if one channel is shorted, the stereo or amp can disable both rear. I...

    Remote Control Door Lock Receiver

I've been studying your post and looking at this metra diagram, did you extend the factory harness or snip the factory connector from the dash? I feel like the issue is something is crossed on the factory harness side. here is a pic on the metra connector showing the colors and pin...

is it just me or am I seeing your boost gauge sitting at about 8psi with your key just on?

    Remote Control Door Lock Receiver

There has to be something with the wiring, maybe the adapter is not pinned correctly. I will do some searching on the web and see what I can find. it's got to be something simple.

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

I am curious how your setup is with the type of turbo you have and how the CDR tubing is plumbed up. most have the tube from the CDR going right into the intake just past the air filter and before the turbo. side note, if there is not much blow by but oil is getting pulled into the...

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

did you spill oil or something on the manifolds causing the smoke? Yes Ak is right, pull the tube that comes from the CDR into your air intake and cap it off. then do the blow by test. when you pull off the tube if there is oil in it then that is how the oil is getting into the intake...

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

your getting oil in the intake? how much blow by does the engine have? if none, then you might possible have turbo seals going south which could be bad for the engine! if it's blow by, look into adding a provent 200 oil catch can. my 93 puffs blow by like a locomotive and blow oil out...

    Remote Control Door Lock Receiver

Yes sir. you can also to test, iirc apply 12+ to the pink and see if suddenly you have boom booms LOL. check with a test light on the blue wire to confirm when you turn on the stereo that blue wire goes 12+.

    1994 c3500 6.5 liter diesel

put out the search for one here in the forums. most of us stash a small hoard of parts. one of the guys here might have one in good shape! If I do end up scrapping this engine, your welcome to the crossover, but again it's not in the greatest conditions but works.

    1994 c3500 6.5 liter diesel

single thermostat or the dual? are there any local pick-a-part salvage yards in your area? you might be able to find one out there. I have part of one for the dual stats. and one single stat crossover that's on an engine I have, haven't decided if I will be doing anything with the...
