I have never tried to do the inspection plate deal. We have the tool here and I use it. I will have a look though maybe it will sve me some time also. You will need the water pump rings, the bypass tube oring, the cross over manifold gaskets, if your not to lucky then you will also need the...
Your supposed to replace the crank bolt also. Just fyi:) Thats an awesome deal on the labor. Its a lot of work to get to it.
I hope the guy you have doing it has the crank holding tool because the crank bolt is dam near impossible to get off with out it. Its 36mm 12pt and takes a 3ft bar plus...
It also has to do with how the trans shifts because of trans fluid temps ect. The tcm is very reliant on engine parameters to do its job. It is amazing how changing the power curve can alter the shift quality and things of that nature.
I made a tune once with efi live that was soley a boost...
Ray what is the price of the renew they sent you, your really not going to get much better than gmpp. They are the biggest one we deal with here and by far the best. They do very good by us and approve most everything that comes through our door even some vehicles that are "less then stock".
Well as the title says I need some new lamps. The ones I bought from napa last year are iirc just standard tractor lights and just dont give off enough of a spread out beam for me. I have the windows tinted and my taillamps tinted also so it is very hard to see behind me unless its lit very...
Unless your worried about not having the stock piping to put back on later down the road, just take the 2 hoses off from the valve cover and cut out the middle section, meaning, cut the rubber hose and aluminum crimps off the metal tubes that bolt to the valve covers then just slide some rubber...
Okay man, the first post yes I was voicing my opinion for efi, but my second was trying to mate the best of the two worlds for you for ease of operation and the best possible tuning, even though you only wanted light duty stuff. It ended up not being compatible. As long as your happy with the...
Atleast on the older years like my 04 and 05 trucks there is a rubber grommet built in just behind the fuse panel near your left foot when driving. You can access it pretty easy. Iirc there is a cable, maybe hood cable, that goes through it. It is the rubber grommet, plus a rubber plug to seal...
Yeah I figured that out this am. Still doesn't change the fact that I was sincerely trying to give this guy the best advice I could give and like you, got it jammed down my throat. Oh well, on to assist others in need.
Barry, based on the tone of the last post, I will be sure to let the huge amounts of people that came running into this thread to help you out continue to do so. Their are a hundred other hand helds I would choose over the edge fwiw. Good luck.
Barry, it sounds like you know what you want! just get it. I personally did not like the way edge did things but haven't even looked into them since I switch. My biggest thing with the edge 2 years ago was not having the control for deleting codes like egr stuff, or not having control over...
Holy chit man, for a tad more you can buy the efi software, have a couple custom tunes made and the gauges you would need. Plus be 100x happier with the quality of the tuning that goes with efi. Jmo. Had the edge attitude and am so glad I dont now.
The percentage is not something you want to hear. :) Start now spraying pb blaster on it then daily and let it soak in for a week or so. you may get lucky. You may get lucky if you dont see the shit weather we do here in ne.
We just replace the bad ones here unless it breaks. If they break we dont even try to get it out the customer gets a new head. We have spent considerable time in the past sending the heads out to get repaired to no avail and gm has not bitched about the heads yet. I would be worried about the...
