It sure looks like an air problem to me. It's like it isn't getting enough fuel at all at start up. Then when fuel does get up to the injectors the glows are cooled off therefore causing the smoking issues. Just my 2 cents I guess.
I like my slider that I have in two of my trucks. One is a std cab and one is an ext. cab. It for sure gives you alot of air movment when open. I don't open it too wide. Just a inch or two does the trick for extra air flow. I have not worried about being broken into. I don't have any leaks...
That sucks bad to have went all the way there and then not buy it. I think you said he mentioned that it did have the veg set up on it?
It sure looked nice. I actually thought about buying it because it looked so clean and I really liked the looks of it. If I didn't already have a 95 burb...
Are you sure the 95's still had the green in it? I think two of my 95's have a different color. Hmmm, everyone changing their fluid. I should change it in my 95 burb. It has the original fluid in it and I have 230,000 miles on her. I guess I have something to do in the next few weeks. This...
My wife is questioning my sanity also. Just picked up 2 more 95 6.5's acouple of weeks ago. Five diesels and a car for 3 drivers in the family. The harley has gotten pushed up in the corner of the garage. I am constantly thinking about these things. The scary thing is I left one up on the...
I switched from the dual mass flywheel to the single mass flywheel on my 92. I can't help you much on the compatibility of the 6.2 items but I just went to a local parts store here and purchased the flywheel for around 100 bucks. I did have to order a new clutch because the one I had wouldn't...
If you decide to go with the powermaster give jegs a call and get a price for it. I have acouple brand new ones and might part with one. Might even give a deal on one. I think summit racing is where I got these. Darn it's been two months ago one would think I would remember where I got them...
It's right on top of the IP. You probably have to take the top half of the intake off to get to the other end of the harness. The harness is approx. 4 inches long. Just take that harness off, If it is still there, and plug the other end of the harness into the top of the IP. Throw the...
Before replacing the IP I would take that resistor wire harness off the IP. If it is still there it is connected to the OS on the IP. Give that a shot and see if it takes care of the problem.
Mine acted up like yours is and I unhooked the harness from the OS. It had less power and I had...
Hey Indybeck, I just left Treegump a message that if he is heading to your area around Sioux Falls that you might be able to give him a hand. I am not sure he has phone service because I got his recording right away. But I did leave him the message that you are willing to help. Thanks alot...
Treegump's slave cylinder is leaking and he is in Minnesota on Hwy. 94 going west. He is traveling on hwy. 94 west to Billings Montana. He has the NV4500 transmission. He is able to drive his 96 pickup for now but is needing to fill up his master cylinder with fluid every once in a while. If...
Like 96 Oil Burner said it should be in the FFM. Not in the filter. I needed one and I just googled standyne dealer and found on close by for like 2 bucks also.
Okay thanks for the reply Chessie. I just thought by reading your post that I needed to adjust a ring at at the bottom of the OS. I just seem under powered, and it might have been since I put in the OS but not sure being it is the wifes rig. I might have to start another thread on that issue...
Yes, Bison is a very knowledgeable individual. Chessie, I am wondering what you ment when you said it moves a ring at the bottom of the OS and effects the fuel timing? I just put in a new/used OS and It took care of most of my problems but it still seems a little under powered. I did scrib a...
Nice looking truck. I don't think you can go wrong if you get it for 1500 dollars. Actually the body looks in pretty good shape. How many people in your family? You should have one for every person. Are we looking at an addiction to the 6.5's here?
