Changed it yesterday, didn't see anything horribly wrong with the old sending unit, it had a little rust on the tube but nothing that looked rotted through. The metal tub from the return line to the top of the unit was loose, but that shouldnt affect anything on the return side. I did also find...
well, I just started on my Kenny project, was going to run a length of fuel line from a can in the bed up to the lp. Parts store only has high pressure fueli injection line for $7 a foot, so I changed my mind. Racked my brains going over the symptoms (it really helps to write them out on here)...
so since i was here last the truck has died on me twice more. the fuel is low in the tank, the truck shuts off but will refire after about 10 minutes of swearing at it. Figured out the ffm was more than half empty, so it seems that it absolutely must be sucking air, right? When it restarts I can...
Cool! I too have decided to get back into 4wheeling. But this time I'm going about it differently. Before we had the kids I bought some new Polaris machines, and traded up, spending huge money. But it was our hobby and we rode a lot, took a lot of trips. I had probably close to ten grand into my...
OK, Kenny, that's my next plan of attack. As soon as I save up enough money to buy some line and 5 gallons of diesel. Had kind of an expensive weekend.
going back, right before it died I had just gone up a really steep, short hill. but I forgot because it didnt die right on the hill. I think with an 1/8 tank the hill caused the little bit of fuel to drain to the back, tube sucked air, and it just took a minute to use up the fuel in the filter...
truck died on me yesterday. thought I was out of fuel, coasted into a gas station but didnt make the pumps. got it refired and filled it up, but it didn't take as much as I thought it should if it was out, plus in the past when I run out Im done, no restarting it. So I think it was something...
Changed filter yesterday, threw in a a good amount of power service silver with about 10 gallons. After about five miles my fuel pressure is up a bit, and I'm having trouble getting it to zero lbs. Little bit more coal, but doesn't feel fast.
what is sight glass and how do I do it? Buddy I'll doublecheck next time I pull the FFM, but pretty sure there was nothing there. Dont remember ever posting pictures of my FFM. Guess I should have prseeure tested the pickup tube while I was in there, but I didn't. If I have to pull the tank...
Fuel pressure only drops under full throttle. cap ap[pears ok. It actually runs and drives fine, its just that I know there is a whole lot more in the truck, and its driving me nuts. I got a little taste of it last weekend, seat of the pants and a ton of nonstop black smoke. Now it's just ok but...
most of the lines are new, the steel lines on top of the tank are fine, no rust. I did pull the fuel heater out, and there was no corkscrew thing. I flushed it with brake clean from both sides, then blew it out with air from both sides. Couldnt see the screens but the brake clean was flowing...
dropped the tank, looked like new inside. sock didnt look real dirty, but something about it looked strange. Maybe it was plugged up, I dont know. Anyway, the sock is gone now. No visible signs of rust or cracks in the pickup tube. All back together, runs good but still not the great power it...
you might be surprised how much time I spend driving around at WOT. but probably not holding it wide open for 20 seconds. But seriously, like I said the testdrive Sunday night I was rollin' coal like never before and tearing up pavement. Now it's just back to normal.
Guess its time to mess...
can I rip the sock off and put it with my cat, or would that just be asking for trouble? Where is this tube you guys were talking about rotting or leaking? If its the sending tube to the fuel line, wouldnt that bypass the sock anyway? I dont think it would suck air, unless it was all the way at...
Tank is near full, performance at both ends of the spectrum tank at any level. Still sounded noisy today. I really don't want to take the tank down. I don't have time for this right now, and I don't even know if that's the problem. All I know is last Sunday after blowing a couple of puffs into...
the line from lp to ffm is new. after 2nd run I opened the cap while listening for rush of air, nothing, no noticeable pressure.
Even if tank sock is the problem, where is my KOJO tune and FTB? That should be accounting for something, and just the fact that the engine wasn't stumbling and...
