Thanks for the welcome;
I wonder if it was a late 95 build but sold as 96, my 98 is late 97 build but listed as a 98, there was a crossover if memory serves correctly where they had the filter as you said in yours. I'll have to look up in my library of old 6.5 info; as I think Diesel Page...
What Have I done for my "Beast lately"....getting ready to travel from MS to NC Ashville/Black mountain area work with a MS Baptist Disaster relief Team to restore some houses still without power or water from last Sept. flood to say that pisses me off is an understatement.
Anyway it has been...
That "Block/noise filter" is on the OBD-I IP's not OBD-II 96+ years trucks, some have taken off without incident others it has hurt running without them, all I have ever run is OBD-II so I do not have a lot of "been there, done that" on OBD-Is other than to help others that have them.
"They did ??? who did the timing reset???
If at a "Stealership" and not a 6.5 knowledgeable tech, they may not have done it correctly. I have been having oddities ( rough idle, hard start when cold, and rpm jump/stumble in reverse) in mine after last GM dealer IP install a couple of years ago...
Just curious to see if I still had posting privilege's here, apparently I do, Hello folks it has been some time, since I have posted anywhere, there was a 6.5 group of "kids" that seemed to want to argue every point I had to offer about the 6.5, plus work, I decided to shrink back and let the...
Character limit would not let me finish last post, I'm back today looking up my old timing procedure, it has been a while for me to remember it. Stealership jacked up the timing on my last IP swap, and display on my MT2500 scanner went out, I found a new display on ebay so I can set timing now.
Semi-retired from GE in 2021 and still have my (2) 6.5s, just didn't have much time to do anything on Diesel forums, I got tired of "kids" arguing my methods were "old fashioned", the "new guys' that sell performance crap the average guy does not need know more than I did ...OK whatever, time to...
Temporary in that I'll eventually be going full frame up resto of the truck after I retire next fall, the extra metal added to driver side put a bit of a tweak in the geometry for tension of the sway bar, and driver side slightly higher than passenger side now.
Truck is usable now without that...
Any plans to put some "protective armor" around those filters? it could get interesting during off road operation, and even highway ops should one of those "rubber alligator skins" fly up into the filters.
When I was USN we had dedicated centrifuges for just that very reason, for MRG main reduction gear oil, CPP oil for propeller system, and we even spun dirty fuel into clean fuel for the turbines to make the ship go all way down to 2.64 mg/L maximum solid and <.01 PPM water in fuel. Wish I could...
Good info folks, I've used Oil analyzers mostly, and Blackstone on occasion, I run either Amsoil filters or Baldwin, case priced Baldwin have done very well for me ( I'm almost out of the last case of filters bought 10 years ago). I have one of the earlier Amsoil dual filter remote kits with...
What do lab reports via sampling say as far as intervals for oil changes, I'm not a proponent of arbitrary oil changes by mileage based on ??? I prefer intervals as indicated on lab results of how I operate the engine, based on my lab tests I change my Amsoil synthetics at 25-30K when additive...
One thing missing from this Paul is operating temp being 170+ or learn command will not "take" much of this is I posted on OBD-II is very similar to OBD-I https://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/threads/time-setting-obd-ii-with-mt2500.37148/ biggest departure OBD-I to best of my memory does not have...
The misconception is with # X resistor you will get X-mm fuel increase or decrease in delivery...Yes and No...this is a calibration resistor wherein on a test stand when IP is built new or rebuilt the total volume of fuel delivered at fixed rpm = 80cc/3 at 3000 rpm (I think....I'll have to refer...
Dennis was tuning for OBD-1 with manual trans as that is what he had, he has a program he has yet to send me to try he says is much improved from what was out there before when paired with ATT, is getting close to retiring from day job as well, I might have to fly him down to MS from MI and we...
