I have 9-1/2" from the inner fender to the wastegate actuator on the turbo. Here are a couple photos of the area I'm working with but I didn't put the factory airbox in place.
@Paveltolz do you have a width on the box itself?
I don't have a memory of when those commercials were new but when I hear the tune of "Like a Rock" in the 90s, I always stopped whatever I was doing to watch the commercials.
I never noticed this before but the downpipe is right up against the heat shield. wire doesn't touch and they have heat shielding around them but it's close.
This bolt was a big challenge. Offset wrench did the trick but not sure what I would have done without it. Let's be real though - all the bolts have been tough to access. Tight fit!
This has been more of a challenge than I thought it was going to be but it's getting there. Oil drain is hooked up, flange is bolted down and the downpipe is bolted in place. That's one big intake hole.

Is it best to mount the turbo onto the exhaust manifold and then install the adapter flange from Quadstar with the 5 bolts between the turbo and the downpipe? The LH rear bolt is giving me a LOT of trouble - simply cannot access it. If I run the bolt up...
Has anyone used this combination successfully?
I saw this where a guy has one but I believe he said this is an A-Team turbo so I suppose the center axis of the turbo is closer to the stock height.
I'm having a hard time finding much on the air filter box side of things when a HX40 is used...

is 47 ft. lbs correct for the filter adapter bolt? That seems like a lot. I was under my truck earlier and stopped until I could confirm that is indeed the spec. for the '95. Felt like I was going to break something with that much.
He put up with my mess since August 2022. I suppose it is wearing on him. I have a pile of parts still sitting on the floor that I can't wait to see gone either...
He's been patient.
I learned i need to buy an underhood bulb for my '95 the other day. Because my hood was open I decided to take it out and put it on the bench where I was working. That was evidently the day the bench needed cleaned off by someone so it found it's way to the trash. (Thankfully my new turbo was...
