Higher engine temp with new thermostats?

Yeah. I´m considering to install another coolant temp gauge near the engine to have full control over what´s actually happening. I´ll give it a shot one of these days! :) Thanks!

Higher engine temp with new thermostats?

Yeah - I´ve been doing that as well when the temps has creeped down to like -25C (-13F), but surely when it´s around 2C (36F), I should manage without? Hell, it´s worth a try as well! :)

Higher engine temp with new thermostats?

Hi! I am struggling with getting my engine up to temp (to heat my wvo system). The dash gauge reads about 90C (194F), however when I measure the temps in the system with digital temp probes, I seldom read above 80C (176F). I´m looking into buying two new 195F thermostats and see if that would...

Oh dear, that´s too advanced for me! :o

    best lifters ?

Are you talking lift pumps or lifting the vehicle? I´ve been doing a lot of research on lift pumps recently. A guy also offered me some hydro shocks quite cheap lately, so I´ve been wondering if it would be a bargain and a good idea, or if I should jump at it and make a possibly good upgrade. ;)

    I’m done with bosch glowplugs

I ordered a set of the Bosch duratherm glow plugs, and had 4 connector flat pins fall off the glow plug. Can´t say I was very impressed by them..

NPSF 1/4"-18 to 3/8" hose barb

I´ve always appreciated that aluminium doesn´t snap and break. haha. I´ll just have to watch it over time, and that´s ok. The temp readings are super, so it was well worth it. I´m gonna move it in between the filter manager and the ip, once I get the ftb kit, so I can get the best readings of...

NPSF 1/4"-18 to 3/8" hose barb

All the American measurements I have to understand. I miss my European mm! ;)

NPSF 1/4"-18 to 3/8" hose barb

Ouch! Avoid aluminum? I just made my custom gauge fitting in aluminium, but at least I managed to sta away from the brass! :) What I can´t figure out is exactly what threads I need on the adaptors (and then where to source them). I was looking for a long time for an adaptor with NPSF 1/4", but...

NPSF 1/4"-18 to 3/8" hose barb

Hi! I suddenly realized I need some adaptors from NPSF 1/4"-18 to 3/8" hose barb to connect my new walbro frb 5 lift pumps when they arrive. I am getting totally lost in the world of pipe threads. Does anyone know who would sell the correct fittings to make this work?

Sveins 1999 6.5 Suburban that´s getting "everything I ever wanted" eventually

It´s been quite a project for some time now, so I´m looking forward to it being "finished". I guess that just means maintenance, dreaming of new upgrades and mods. haha. The choice of pumps was....a bad choice. ;) Apparently, plantdrive has done conversations on 6.5 using the stock fuel pump...

Sveins 1999 6.5 Suburban that´s getting "everything I ever wanted" eventually

I´ve reached the present! This actually happened on last Friday, I had another session at the garage doing some minor fixes. The first and most important mission was to install this beauty that my multi talented welder friend made for me in order to get both a temperature probe and a pressure...

Sveins 1999 6.5 Suburban that´s getting "everything I ever wanted" eventually

Day two was the longest day. I spent a good 20 hours on the car: -changing fuel tanks -running new fuel lines to the original fuel tank -connecting the wvo vents in the engine compartment hooking up the diesel lines and connecting it to the engine -Cutting into the coolant lines for the wvo...

Sveins 1999 6.5 Suburban that´s getting "everything I ever wanted" eventually

So, it´s been a while since I did the actual conversion work on the car. I rebuilt the diesel system and added a wvo system with a separate tank. I now have pre filters, lift pumps, and coolant heated filter on both fuel lines, before the original filter. It took me a long weekend to get the...

Sveins 1999 6.5 Suburban that´s getting "everything I ever wanted" eventually

Last Monday I had to take the suburban in and to a full cleaning of the fuel hoses and change main fuel filter due to rust in the hoses. That damn "new" fuel tank I bought is full of rust particles and plastic pellets!! At least I treated myself with mounting new fog lights on the car. The...

Sveins 1999 6.5 Suburban that´s getting "everything I ever wanted" eventually

The last projects I really wanted to finish before xmas was adding towing mirrors and glow plug manual override - with new duratherm glow plugs. The mirror swap was quite easy, although I´m not sure I´m happy with the viewing angles the towing mirrors are giving me. I guess I have to give them...

Sveins 1999 6.5 Suburban that´s getting "everything I ever wanted" eventually

So I´ve been doing a lot of progress on the sub lately! It looks like I will manage to get many of the projects done before going on Christmas holidays! I run a new cable from the front of the truck to the rear end with several control signals for my system. A 7x1,5 in a plastic pipe to the...

Sveins 1999 6.5 Suburban that´s getting "everything I ever wanted" eventually

I have made quite a bit of progress on the wvo conversion progress. Last week, I had a lot of help from a fantastic college who is a multi-talent in everything that can be created, and he helped me weld brackets to mount the wvo filters, lift pumps, heaters and vents. I am "doubling" the setup...

Sveins 1999 6.5 Suburban that´s getting "everything I ever wanted" eventually

My days at home is coming to an end. I wanted to do so much while I was home, but that time thing..it just flies away! Ive spent the past days putting together three additional relay panels for the truck: This was in the making - I understand why there are so many nests inside the trucks. There...

Sveins 1999 6.5 Suburban that´s getting "everything I ever wanted" eventually

I also shot some photos of the finished rust removal project. Ugly as **** - it´s spray painted black at the moment, but I will eventually rubber spray the entire truck, and it will all be gone, haha! Here seen with 500km of road dirt on top of it. After half a year ( and no rubber spray yet...
