Does anybody happen to know the Walker part numbers for the exhaust crossover flanges and bolts? I can't seem to find anything, but I need to order them so they are here when my crossover shows up. A couple threads specify the bolt dimensions, but I wonder if there's a PN for them. Thanks.
Thanks for the info, 6.2 turbo. I'm going to do a little shopping on fleabay or the hit the U Pull It and get myself an AAZ injector to see what's what with those things...
Thanks for the advice on the .05's BigBlueChevy. I was planning to go with mercedessource but didn't know if they had...
Sweet! Do you have an AAZ VW? Check and see what might interchange and what wouldnt. If the internal parts are similar maybe they can be swapped into the GM body? I might have to buy an AAZ if you don't have one
Also, can you do me a favor? See if the pop adjustment washer is the same diameter...
It is totally do-able with mechanical injection. And the pump isn't any different. The injector has two springs inside instead of one. The first is lighter pressure and 'pops' earlier allowing, say 5%, of the fuel to be injected. Then as the injection pressure rises, the second spring pops...
The Mercedes OM617 is an IDI motor and I've seen people putting spit shot's in them. If I understand it correctly, they don't have multiple orifices like a DI injector. Just one orifice in the nozzle, it just shoots twice per cycle. Just like pilot injection.
I'm also getting conflicting...
That might be the case with the VW/Merz stuff. The fords got them in 97 in cali and all in 99 so they are HEUI injected. I read a couple threads about guys asking if they should use single shots in their cali spec truck when they were replacing them. Some performace places sell the split...
Yep. It's sort of a mechanical 'pilot' injection. Two springs in the injector. The lighter spring starts the injection earlier, at a lower pop pressure. Then the second heavier spring opens and injects the main charge into a cylinder (or prechamber in our case) that is already burning fuel...
So I'm planning to rebuild my injectors in the next few weeks and reading about that has shown me 'split shot' injectors. Bosch made some mechanical split shots for mercedes and VW. Knowing that some of the parts are (almost) interchangeable, would it be beneficial to try to come up with split...
Well adjusting the rears made a world of difference. It's still not the 'screeching halt' kind of braking a guy would hope for, but these trucks aren't known for that anyway. Much less pedal travel to get stopped now. I didn't flush or bleed, I just adjusted because I was running short on...
Ok, ok, you're back...good. Glad you had a great time... Now get to answering your emails! I need an exhaust system! Been waiting a month already!:pokey:
For a second there, I thought we had something in common! When I got my 99 it had a homemade PMD extention. He cut up an old PMD and made a wire end then filled the back side with clear silly-cone! It worked just fine, I guess, but I went ahead and got a better harness for it. A+ for...
I also agree.
I love my 6.5 for what it is and even if a DI version was just a phone call away, I'd probably just keep the IDI for what I do. But if I ever had the money I might put a rig together that with a DI that had one purpose, shame the nay-sayers! Now if my engine was to take a dump...
This is kind of where my idea went too. That way it's not some weird one-off thing that's not upgradeable.(like the injector spider in my 97 Vortec 350)
I also read that Dmax pistons are the same diameter, but the pin to crown height is different. I'm sure you could have a set made with the...
If all this comes to be I would imgaine it would be like the P400 is. Sold as complete, not parts. Which I understand from their point of view, but I still don't like it! I know Pennisular does sell parts, but I think they "part out" complete engines to get them. Maybe not...
I would also...
Any info about the injection system on that PO400? This is the first Ive heard about that engine.
I understand that GM tested some DI/HEUI 6.5 variants before dumping it in favor of an all new design (the Dmax). But Jim on the DP said he had direct contact to a development member at GEP who...
