Thanks Pepp, my son works at the local Buick dealer so I had him order me one, got it for decent price. If you look, #7 doesnt require anything to be removed to get to it so it should be very straightforward (knock on wood)
After sitting at the dealer for 2 days I just got the call that they agree the #7 injector is shot but GM will not warranty the injector because it isnt an LB7, no coverage on the LLY. Needless to say I am less than pleased.
I found the algorithm for the P0307 code on Alldata. On the Duramax it says that the code will set when the balance rate of the injector is out of range for more than 30 seconds, check the fuel pressure regulator numbers and then confirm balance rates out of range. It says to perform compression...
From what I gathered most of the #7 wiring issues are setting the code P0207, mine set P0307 once only although I understand your concern on the #7 since its been a problem before on these. I did check the wiring and connectors and everything looks okay although thats not definitive. I have been...
This is the first set of readings I have gotten while it was sputtering and smoking. It only runs this way after I drive it for 20 miles or so. I have noticed an decrease in mileage and an across the board increase in rich smelling exhaust.
After driving the truck again today it idled pretty raggedy so I ran it up and had the balance rates checked again, this one reveals what I expected.

I dosed the half tank of fuel I had with a pint of Seafoam and drove it to work yesterday (25 miles) and it sat until this morning at 8, drove it home and it was actually better. I was going to get another set of balance rates this AM but it only stumbled at one light on the way home and I never...
All I got was in park at idle, this was not when the truck was smoking badly and sputtering, I let it run 15 minutes and still couldnt get it to do it, of course I drove it home and it stumbled in gear as I was backing in. My guess would be that its much worse when it gets to smoking.
I replaced the bleeder O-ring and removed the tune so I will have to wait till the AM when I get out of work to test drive. I did a little checking and the # 7 harness issue supposedly kicks code P0207 as an open injector circuit, wrong code for mine but now would probably be a good time to...
I went to remove the hypertech and reinstall the stock program and found P0307 (misfire detector)
I also found C0035 and C0201 relating to the ABS, I assume they are unrelated but they just popped up in the last few days.
Since I just replaced the fuel filter I wonder if the bleeder screw...
Thanks, I have an appointment to check balance rates next week.
I run power service every other tank but didnt have any in this one, I did put half a bottle of sea foam in it just in case it was some bad fuel.
I am betting I have an injector going bad but I wanted to run this by you guys before I go any further. I have an 05 LLY 80k miles with a hypertechIII, 4" exhaust without cat, EGR blocker and fingerstick, LBZ mouthpiece and TXChris air box kit. About a week ago I noticed it running a little...
The pump wasnt bad on mine, just the electronic module that sits on top of it. If its just the module there isnt any need to disconnect the lines or bleed the system. The module can be removed from the pump and the truck still driven as long at its covered after you remove the module and no dirt...
There was a guy that advertised on Ebay and would rebuild your ECBM for a couple hundred dollars. I had to replace the unit on my 99 1/2 ton and was lucky enough to find a new unused one at the salvage yard. The hardest part of the repair is getting the torx drive screws out of the unit so you...
There are some long life diesel coolants that are red, Dexcool is more of an orange color. As long as you buy "dexcool" you are all set, dont buy the "works in everything" coolants they void the long life properties of the Dexcool.
Other than the regular washes and being sure to rinse under the truck, I use a sprinkler in the driveway that sprays straight up. I park the truck with the hose coming out under the front and the sprinkler at the rear. I leave it on and every few minutes I drag the hose forward a foot or so...
check out this video. According to Baldwin, organic acid coolants are still "ethylene glycol" based.
