What readings should a boost gauge have?

Another question. I'm looking at installing a triple gauge pillar mount. I've found that not all boost gauges are the same. What range should a boost gauge have on it for the 6.5TD?

Covering the front of the engine during cold months?

So now that the outside temp.s are starting to drop, what's the general consensus/rule of thumb on how much of the radiator should be blocked off (if any)? Should it only be a small portion? What's the best location then? Upper section, lower section, dead in the middle. upper or lower half...

I've had mine up there for a few weeks now and no one has answered. Is there anyone left who does them?

    Shock replacement

The price I'm not sure about. It's those "lifetime warranties" that I would be skeptical of. What exactly is "lifetime" on such an item? Read the fine print. Good luck.

    Need batteries....

Consumer Reports had some good things to say about the AutoZone Duralast batteries when they put them through their tests. I'm getting ready to replace mine with a pair of Diehards. WARNING- IMO stay away from the NAPA brand batteries. They were put in as a pair, one went bad and was replaced...

    Battery ponderings

I've considered one of those solar chargeres that sit on the dash. I was thinking the one that had the auto cut off to keep from overcharging the battery. Since this seems to fit the topic, what is the general consensus on these? Good, bad, unknown? They seem like they might be a benefit to a...

    Battery ponderings

I've not been real impressed with my NAPA batteries. For my gasser I bought one from Autozone - I think it was the DL Gold - and it did well. I don't know how many of you are Consumer Reports readers but the list certain DuraLast Gold batteries as good buys. If I have the money when the time...

How many miles should 6.5TD IP be good for?

Wow! By all means please give us the name and location of that shop so we all know where to NOT take our trucks.

How many miles should 6.5TD IP be good for?

Not really. The fine print in the warranty reads that if your run anything other then dino then it's void. Like someone else pointed out though, my savings from the wvo over the last couple of years have more then paid for a couple of IP's. Especially when dino hit $4 to $4.75/gallon around here...

k2500 Sub 6.5 oil filter adapter.

I'm sorry if this seems like a dumb reply but I've seen worse (believe it or not). Did you put a lite coating of oil on the filter gasket before spinning it down? Also, do you hand tighten it then back it of an 1/8th of a turn? Might these be issues?

How many miles should 6.5TD IP be good for?

Okay, I already know there's no definitive answer for such a question. Obviously it’s been established that the IP is the weak point. It seems that everyone has the thinking of “when” it fails and not “if”. I’m just curious if there is a general consensus of when these things are going to drop...

    Pmd grounding???

The short ground wire can't have the resistance changed at all from everything I've read. Altering the length, even if you used a heavier gauge wire, will do just that. I can't say I fully understand why this is, after all a ground is a ground, but I do trust those that have done so and dealt...

How to make a pmd extension cable

WARNING!! I was told when I made my extension to NOT splice and alter the black ground wire in any way. If you do you change the resistence in the wire and apperently it screws something up. Maybe someone here who knows more about it can elaborate? Either way, I also made my own harness and it...

Sorry, but another newbie question; What's "ftb" stand for?

I think I'm going to do it...

While I'm am far from an expert on the subject you might want to consider the fact that you are also running wvo. One of the warnings I remember reading said something to the effect that wvo and chipped engines don't play nice together. The individual warned that it will shorten the engine life...

    A better Lift Pump

Thank you Matuva. Now for a few other questions. Should a fuel pressure gauge go inline right before the fuel entering the IP? What would be the maximum and minimum parameters this fuel pressure gauge should read? Do I understand correctly that extra fuel a 6.5 doesn't use is routed back to...
