Charge Air Cooler under 400.00$ for all GMT400 trucks & subs

A lot of discussion at the 6.5 expert site (NOTT!!!!!) where Steaksauce lives and peddles his wares to the uninformed 6.5er about "risks" of a under bumper mounted IC; I ran mine there for years without any issues at all. I looked at "cooling stack mounted ICs" myself but since the 6.5 is...

We had a run-away twice on the 1994 K3500. Wife had it happen to her and then drove

There is a reason for fuel shutdown solenoid on top of the IP, in event of PMD fail that shuts off fuel to IP, another possibility is broken fuel delivery solenoid armature shaft on end of the IP fuel distribution head, and what I suspect if PMD swap did not correct the issue a sticking or...

It all began with the failure of the AUX fuel tank!

I've not been on the site in quite a while, I read some links to things you should check, but really no updates on how you made out on the various things tried other than change a fuel filter and keep it warm in the garage. Did you check the gnds, those could have a "cold junction" where when...

    ATT run vs. HX40II

They are wrong and you are right I've got 3:42s in my burb and my results with the "bad gears" for ATT mirror yours, the unbiased tester there.......not so much

Charge Air Cooler under 400.00$ for all GMT400 trucks & subs

I've been MIA from the forum for a while been dealing with some extensive issues at home with wife's health; a little insight on the lack of IC recommendation. I've never said that an IC was not a worthwhile venture I had one for years (I still have it on the shelf) it was required IMO when...

Opinions on reverse cooling our 6.5's

I've been running Balance flow setup for years now, Bill quit selling them because his source to make them became cost prohibitive, plus his "Balanced Flow" setup he sells now with restrictor, retuned clutch- pump & stats keep things cool. I don't think head heat is as bad as some think, with a...

pulling the innards from a 7.3 IDI pump and a 6.2 pump

Paul There was a 6.2. Diesel drag racerback in the day had a highly modified mech Ip on it not a Gm one IIRC from a Navstar Diesel I think. Bill has told me before I just don't remember. Strictly drag machine 14:1 CR I think said it took forever to warm up enough to make runs 15 minute pre...

    how much fuel is required?

With a walbro pump like Leroy sells there is no need for a bypass, it is self regulating and will only pump as long as there is a fuel demand sort of along same lines of the OEM pump to "pulse/pump" when fuel is required, another benefit of Walbro they are rebuildable if they become worn out...

    how much fuel is required?

If it is fresh out the box I imagine it might do that, per OEM manual it is supposed to be 28gph, if doing any HP above stock I highly recommend upgrade to a FTB & Walbro upgrade http://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/showthread.php?572-Feed-The-Beast-Part-I-amp-Part-II-Improve-fuel-to-IP, with...

    A little bit of fuel system R & R.

Factory filter rating is a 5 micron nominal, and plenty IMO for our low pressure fuel systems I run a 10 mic on my promary pre lift filter as those seem to be easisest for me to find at retailers off shelf inventories, 20-30 mic is generally accepted rating for a primary filter.

    A little bit of fuel system R & R.

Heater maybe depends if operating in really cold area often or running a belended "heavy fuel" Vo/WVO that may need thinning when cold, my Racor has the capability for pre-heat if I want to add the kit, water separation IMO is a yes, but that is a function of the filter element itself treated...

Stats? Head Gaskets? Fix it / Dump it?

Hi Terry long time no see, negative on the Cometic gaskets, according to stuff Bill shared with me on my project engine, great for gassers, but not so well with 6.5s suspect someting to do with higher CR and clamping arrangement of the 6.5s head. But rebuild for sure that truck can't be...

Ive got my Kojo tune.. Whats next?

It's not the issue of a 1500 being equipped with a ATT I have (2) a K1500 (S) truck & a C1500 (F) burb with ATT; both have better performance & mpg over stock turbo, 99% of my driving is around town driving, towing is the shining star for the ATT but I have no complaints whatsoever in daily...

    Super "B" turbo

Go for it  it looks like you have a good understanding on risks and have been down this road before, so with that give it a shot ATT by paper was not supposed to work either, even Bill not a fan of it but IMO he/it did not get a fair shake out, and much of Bills mind made up by...

i think i blew me a head gasket

X2 to Ferms advise, also don't reuse the old TTY head bolts only new bolts, though some have & gotten away with it, IMO cheap insurance to go with studs and allow for more strength overall.

i think i blew me a head gasket

Me personaly I would not give up just yet you know your 6.5, you don't know the Cummins or maybe you do, but if you do you also know they can have issues as well,,,,,,, expensive ones,,,,,, which is easy for me to say not knowing the full situation before you, but if it is a head gasket you are...

i think i blew me a head gasket

Not always about the math how something should work, proof is in pudding over long haul dynamically how it hold up, my setup has been there since 2008. I'm not saying the HX or other turbos won't work and that it is also the cause of the problem or a contributor in this instance; But...

I can not find the part number for the rubber grommet that holds the CDR to the valve

Umm 8 grommets ???? for CDR that is a lot of bad grommets out there ? Now that I think of it I'll check my (2) 98s to see if bad/hardened beyond service life, Maybe if there is a need we could get one of our regular vendors to buy some and stock them +$9 ship & handling is some serious...
