SAE30R7 fuel hose

I have a nice supply of Gates 4219XL fuel hose in 1/8 inch.
On the back side of the hose it is rated at SAE 30R7.
Is this a high enough rating to withstand extended periods of diesel fuel return hose ?
According to what I read on the specs it lists diesel and bio fuels too.
Just checking before jumping is all.
 
It is federally mandated that all on road fuels in the continental US have oxygenated fuel. The way the extra oxygen is in there is from either ethanol or methanol. Most states, not all, required the labeling of “oxygenated fuel” by percentage- usually 5% or 10%.

Sae7 works but will fail in a decade, sae9 will withstand 30 years. The 9 is barely more expensive and ever so slightly stiffer so imo is the automatic go to.

I’ll seek out some SAE9 in 1/8th inch and plan on changing that hose within a couple of years.
IDK why that fabric coated hose from Leroy cracked at the nipple the way it did.
Guess it dont matter now cause its all going by the way and getting replaced with a 9. Left side will be right away.
 
There is no 1/8th inch 30R9 hose, none.
I ordered in more of the 30R7, 25 foot of the stuff so if anyone needs some 1/8th inch hose please send me a message, I’ll mail some to You.
On the gmsb forum a feller in there said He switched over to nitrile hose then installed the little clamps at the nipples.
He also stated that the nitrile hose hardens over time but it does not become brittle.
That might be an option too to try out.
 
I used some 1/8" fuel line I found at home depot in the plumbing isle (of all places) its kinda yellowish orange clear line similar to weed eater fuel line. got it when I was in a pinch but so far it's holding up well. I need to look and see what it's made of. didn't use any clamps it grips the nipples well LOL!

That last one was originated by a company and called Tygon. Do searches here and you’ll see many of us tried it over the years. Takes about 70,000 miles but it will fail.

I never tried the sae30r7 on the 1/8” stuff. I would think it needs clamps, but usually spring clamps don’t work for the multi layered fuel line- usually need screw style.
I had great success with Mercedes Benz push on line that dealerships sell for the 1980s 5 cylinder & 6 cylinder idi engines. But it isn’t easy to remove, so since I am planning on doing the multiple injector swap method of finding best pop pressure for my build-I bought the gm set from Leroy.
 
To be clear on my last post: the r-7 stuff WILL FAIL in time. Thats why I never tried it. Use the gm ones as they are super cheap & easy to swap on the injectors, then when you are done swapping around injectors and settle on a set, the original Mercedes Benz injector hose that is 1/8” is r9 rated even though they don’t print it on the hose- but I ONLY buy it from a dealership and just purchase by the foot for the OM617 (that’s their amazing little 5 cylinder). If they ever only have them precut..:buy two sets. And run that stuff permanently. You push on without clamps and have to cut it to remove. Only time I ever heard of issues was people buying online instead of dealership which tells me cko stuff.
 
I do have several feets of the VW hose that My BIL purchased when we was working on His Passant.
I am not sure that it is diesel rated so I never tried it.

I dont remember what the purpose of this hose was on that gas driven V-6 engine but we needed this size for something, most likely vacuum hose.
There also is a crap load of plastic tube that this stuff fits. Had to buy XX amount of feet to get ten inches. Thats why I have so much of this.
