2005 Chevy 3500 Rear Axle GAWR Upgrade

Virtually every hot shot driver out there legally runs over what the manufacturer rates them at. Once you register the vehicle for commercial use, you put down how much you want to haul with it, and your insurance company writes the policy. How else do you think guys use mid 90's Dodge's with...

2005 Chevy 3500 Rear Axle GAWR Upgrade

The axle isn't the limiting factor so much as your frame. The 11-19 axle has heavier tubes and is still an 11.5" rear axle. Not sure on the spring width or shock hookups.

88-98(-00 2500/3500's) XJ steering shaft upgrade.

I have received confirmation that a YJ(87-94 wrangler, somebody had problems with a 95) shaft will work to replace the 2 steering shafts in a 95+.

You have to be careful with 454 tbi units. There was 4 or 5 different ones used through the years not counting marine and medium duty truck units.

1998 GMC K3500 6.5 Turbo Diesel speedometer and RPM issues

Yours uses a VSSB, not a DRAC. A DRAC will give all kinds of problems. Try putting the old VSSB and vss in it.

He told me to remove the tensioner and I believe use a belt off of an 07.

That's basically the same one I use. Some say they use the sponge or wick, but I don't see how they can get all the old solder out with either of those. The pump just works once you get the hang of it.

Like I said, the reprogramming had nothing to do with pulsing it, it only increased the off time between on cycles(when I get home I can probably find some .bins to post showing the changes). It also helped out to make the engine idle smoother on a hot start while it transitioned from batch fire...

1998 GMC K3500 6.5 Turbo Diesel speedometer and RPM issues

No, diagnose it. Just replacing parts almost always ends up causing more problems than you started with. The grounds on the back of the intake are grounds for the cluster iirc. If you have a DVOM with a good tachometer in it, you can use that to check the outputs. GM used a signal generator that...

If you're doing the cluster, be certain to use only Juken oem replacements. Most ebay kits are china kits and won't last 3 months. I used to do these for local shops. It's not hard to do steppers, but I highly recommend a solder pump to remove the old solder. It takes some practice to get the...

1998 GMC K3500 6.5 Turbo Diesel speedometer and RPM issues

I would suspect a cluster issue. The tach is ran straight from the alternator, the speedo and radio are on one vssb output(4k ppm) the ECM is on 2 others(2k ppm & 40 pulse per output shaft revolution), and the abs is on another(128k ppm). Either the calibration resistor in your cluster is bad...

Up north most AC's do not run all the time, not even on defrost. Yes the ac function is enabled in defrost, but if the temp is below 40-45 degrees, the compressor will not engage. I live in the southeast where AC is used YEAR round(even in winter our daily highs get into the 80's and sometimes...

Which one are you looking for? There is several different 454 tbi units, and I believe 3 different injector sizes for just the 454(you must run the correct injectors).

Yes, it is mounted under the rear of the vehicle just in front of the fuel tank. I wouldn't just replace it until you check all the vacuum lines, replace the fuel cap with an OEM(NO aftermarket caps), and post the P code to look up what it is.
