Hi Guys,
I've been away for a while due to liver cancer, they've given me x months in 1995 so I'm hoping there(Docyore) wrong again. I tow pretty heavy with my truck and from a dead stop going uphill my temps would get a little higher than I felt comfortable with. I am running the SSD pump and...
BTW it is advertised as injector cleaner and top cylinder lubricant. I pick up roughly 1 mpg over two stroke oil and Diesel Powerservice at about 47 cents per tank less.
I have been using a product from US Oil and it seems to work great. I noticed a quieter engine almost instantly and have mpg results that were surprising. I am now getting roughly 19mpg on the truck in my sig. Yes I do baby it, never run over 65 mph. I bought it at a truck stop for roughly 20$ a...
Went on vacation the other week and towed pretty heavy(10,500K). Got about 14.4 mpg and had no soot on my stainless exhaust tip or the rear fender. Trip was about 550 miles.
Also, when I put my engine back together I used intake, water crossover and headgaskets. As far as I can remember everything else is the super Black RTV. 17,000 miles and no leaks. In fact, I have a problem with stuff rusting on my engine.
I used the WAP's for two years and did not have one fail and they were not a problem to get out. The only reason I changed them was for their bad reputation and I had the engine out so it was a good time to do it. When I checked them afterwords they were all still good. BTW, the engine started...
That I am not sure of. I know my 660 6.2 block is a two piece seal. I do believe that some of the early 6.5's had a two piece seal but I am not sure. Someone may be able to add to this.
You have to use a 4x4 oil pan that matches the rear main seal, whether it be a two piece seal or a one piece seal. The water pump that I am running came off of my 6.5 and is the HO pump. Everything that was not part of the block casting externally on the 6.2 I changed out from my 6.5.
You will need a 4x4 oil pan and all of the externals off of your 6.5. Heads, intake, exhaust manifolds, sensors, timing set and front cover off the 6.5, etc.. A way of oiling your turbo. Mine does great I actually have more power than I did with my 6.5's and my last 6.5 was a reman. that blew 3...
FWIW, if you decide to add freon yourself be sure to get a gauge. I used to do R12 by adding until the compressor locked and let enough out until it worked, no problem. With R134 the pump will not usually lock if you get too much in, it just destroy itself. You can overfill the system and still...
I did it this year with rad still in the truck. I pulled the top of the shroud off and used a pump up sprayer to get in between the rad and ac coil. Let it set a little and then rinsed it off real good. I had all kinds of bugs and dust and stuff on the driveway.
For cleaning the radiator core and AC condenser along with the other coolers out front, I went the local Heat and Air home shop and bought a product called PRO-GREEN for $16 a gallon. It is evaporator core cleaner and you mix 3 parts water to one part PRO-GREEN. I mixed 1 gallon and sprayed...
