Low mile Optimizer long block. Out of Humvee so oil pan needs to be changed to fit a truck/Suburban.
It has been "demilitarized" so the turbo housing was cut. You would need to replace the turbo.
No exhaust manifolds.

Thanks everyone for your prayers, messages, and thoughtful wishes. Today is nine weeks since I lost my wife, Jean. I'm slowly getting better already, but as one can imagine, I'm still going through all kinds of sideways, downs, and some ups coming to terms with losing her.
It was a sudden...
The PCM/glow plug question Leroy is trying to ask is: does anyone know what temperature sensor the PCM uses to decide about cycling the glow plug relay? i.e. does it use the engine temperature sensor, the air intake, or does it ignore temperature sensors and just use a timer? I think it...
Are the TTY bolts the ones that you torque and then turn an additional number of degrees?
What is the procedure for torquing the ARP studs, and to what torque value(s)?
Thanks
I put ceramics on my truck and am very pleased with how they feel and the stopping power. However, they have really gouged my rotors. I'm amazed that the brakes still seem to perform well as bad as the rotors are torn up.
Good work guys. I know most people are interested in tuning engine parameters, but is anyone looking at the transmission side? It would be nice, for instance, to keep the PCM out of "limp home" mode when it detects an intermittent problem.
Thanks
I hope you don't mind what may be a dumb question, but it seems like higher boost would improve efficiency. How does lower boost work to increase mileage?
Thanks
Your tach may be off, cause mine spins about 2000rpm at 70 with the 3.42 gear.
Not surprising with the different alternator setup. The crank and alternator pulley diameter ratio is probably not the same as the 6.5 was and that is what the tach is calibrated to.
That must be what I was thinking of. I think 1973 was the last year the removable top included above the front seat. I think was the only year for that on the "new" body style.
I wonder if there are any reliable oil level sensors you could put on it? Even if it is just a switch that would let you know the oil is getting low before it gets too low.
