rattle from drivers front left in 2005 Suburban 5.3

No clue, I was figuring a faulty speed sensor was cycling traction control at 1,000 rpms. Turn off traction control, it prevents it from cycling. I bet if i jack the brakes on a gravel road, I could get an abs error. Thoughts?

Down to hub: I can get rid of the sound by disabling the traction system. Must be a sensor.

There is an issue with the column. I feel nothing in the column though (not saying that makes it true or false). Another person suggested wheel hub..

I am one step further: it is something in the brake system pressurizing or spooling up. If I touch the brake petal during the noise I can feel it, like ABS cycling. No issues with actual braking: pull, shudder, stopping power, etc.

rattle from drivers front left in 2005 Suburban 5.3

Huh... totally possible considering the corrosion I have. It is just weird, nothing changes in the speed of it or rythm. Hard throttle or soft throttle, it seems to be independent of suspension/drive train. Steering is the only thing I have heard change it: silences it if wheel is right or left...

    Sorry, see if that works...

rattle from drivers front left in 2005 Suburban 5.3

Front end was just rebuilt and this rattle is still going... it sounds plastic-y. Only once has it been accompanied by a grind/rub that I felt in the steering wheel. It always repeats the 4 times you hear in the video, first repetition loudest and longest, others diminishing but similar. It does...

    Thanks for all the help!

:). They are just great vehicles. Drive nice, comfortable, still haul a decent load occasionally, and can hold all my crap locked down tight.

Good word. It looks like I have another Burb lined up. Trying to clear up the details.

    Thanks for all the help!

i passed on my truck. I sold her for a reasonable price, passing her on to someone willing to give her love. I gave him a link to here, so hopefully he can pick up where I left off. He already has a 4l80e to swap in. Thank you all for all the troubleshooting assistance over the last 5 years. I...

    Ongoing limp mode issue

Whats the best way to diagnose the root of the problem? I got the cable in to run gmtdscan (basic). How much "repair" does the sure cure kit apply? http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CB3NE48/?tag=jhuntlink-20 I would be willing to get in there and try to fix. Likely be easier to sell in spring regardless.

    Ongoing limp mode issue

True. I know it has the same tranny. They kept it the same until 2009 IIRC, but updated the control of it. It would also have ten years less wear on all the wiring, plastics and components. It is also much quieter inside, which I value. It is also a $500-800 difference in annual fuel...

    Ongoing limp mode issue

Ugh. Decision time... I seem to be riding the edge of a lot of issues and either need to commit or jump ship. I am considering selling my project and getting a 2002-2006 suburban gasser. Shop fees would suck to get this fixed and I need to get this truck back on the road. I guess I would need...

    Ongoing limp mode issue

Actually the next time was 68, 73, 85, 86: i found the note with my handy paper clip! But tonight was just 68... Which in combination with the metal sludge in my pan probably means actual mechanical issue possibly? Thoughts? I got the cable ordered to be able to put a scanner on it.
