    Trans Codes P1724, P0700

P0700 is just a generic code stating there is a transmission fault present. That is just there because the other code is there. Have you done any work on this thing lately>??? Shift kit install>???

This is where I'll be reviewing the transmission kit I bought (pics)

Did you ever get the $390 back or did you have to eat that>??? Sorry to hear you have fallen on bad times, it is tough out there for a lot of people.

    This Labor Rate Sound Fair?

$1200 for labor with you pulling out the trans and reinstalling>??? :nono: That is not a fair price!

Transmission shop in northern Delaware that build a custom Allison's

If you want to make the trip to CT I would be glad to set you up. Big Dipper is down in your area, I have heard nothing but good things about him.

    Spin on filter choice (s)

Al, all you had to do is ask. I know it's a little late now, haha but I always have a bunch at the shop. Hope all is well and you had a good holiday. -Mat-

    Fluid Level

Yes, I'd say 150* or more. 110 is not hot, after a long drive it will get WELL above 110-120.

    Built trans here I come.

Have you made any decisions yet on what you are going with>??? The 1058 is not a bad converter.

    TransGo Jr.

    That is cheap!

    tranny fluid

I would change it. I am sure it could use it.

    I appreciate the kind words!

    th350 to 700R4?

It was always a 4L80E and then the 4L85E. They were always electronically controlled units.

    Who's going?

I feel like I have something planned that weekend, just can't remember what. If I am free I will take a ride up and hook some weight up to the Fatback.

    Torque converter drain

Like Mike said, those drain plugs were not factory. I have yet to seen an aftermarket converter rebuilder install a drain plug either. I'm not that old though.
