not running any accessories, no belt on engine, 90 degrees outside and using glow plugs manually just touching wires to battery for them, tried running them while cranking and without... definately gonna need a new starter, i think the 2 i have are just wore down...gonna try at lunch tomorrow...
the injector pump i got has 2 lines scribed into it for the timing...im not sure wich one to use, it still isnt wanting to crank, smoking white so its getting fuel....
thinking of that too... i have a problem getting the truck to start now, my pump has 2 lines scribed into it so im not sure which one to use, its pumping out white smoke trying to crank so i figure i got advanced or something....
replaced bent flexplate as well im sure it wasnt very helpfull neither.... the starters on these trucks are a pain too, ordered one off ebay and it didnt have the hole for the bracket to mount the back of it to the block and if you take them apart you got to get the timing set right on them or...
k thank you war wagon, good to know, i had done it tons of times in the army but i guess when the cables are hooked to a 24v system its a bit more juice, and we were never allowed to change out an ip so i wasnt sure if the timing on them was like a gasser and made for a slow spin..
yeah just figured no belt and no anything else just starter it would spin easy, pretty much like on an engine stand, was weary bout pulling gplugs out today we are kinda having a sand storm at the moment but thats what we did when i was in the army to prime the system
got everything kinda rigged up on my conversion today...first starter would hardly spin my engine, tried different starter and it spun a little better but not fast enough to crank and definately not enough to prime the system...idk what im doing wrong, i was trying to start with jumper cables...
there are many things id like from his site lol but im on more than a tight budget at the moment but is going to happen...put starter in earlier but the weather has been horrible and i was about to blow away so first start up as been delayed...
damn yall are scaring me lol ugh i dont wanna have to mess with that 4l80e but at least i got it i guess... once i put it in il most likely put the rest of the drive train from the doner truck as well so i have the 8 lug pattern
good info on that tranny, thats what i have been worried about, i never tow, and this truck is just a half ton single cab so thats a lot less weight than my 1 ton the motor came outa, i figured as long as i kept an eye on the temps and didnt run anything bigger than the 33 inch tires on the...
so if im reading this all correctly, with me putting this 6.2 flywheel on my 6.5 and bolting it up to the origional gasser tc and 700r4 i should have a decent stall or am i backwards??
