I use a box end wrench and a rubber mallet to break them loose, all you have to do is get the rotor off and find the sensor in the top of the hub. Clean the area before you attempt to take out the screw. There is a socket head cap screw that holds the sensor in, remove it and then gently twist...
Anyone have experience with replacing the axle seals ? I ended up going from a straight up brake job all the way to a bare spindle due to the dust shields being rotted off. One of the seals was already bad. I had the seals pressed back into the hubs after I cleaned everything up but I am...
I have done a few of them at work and have always just run another set of cables from Batt 1 to batt 2 up and over the top of the radiator and down the right fender to batt 2.
I had a baldwin that the threads were all boogered up, it wouldnt thread on, luckily I keep a few on the shelf at all times and it was just the one I found bad.
I have a filter setup on my 05 but after a ton of research could not find any type of a balancer that can be used with Dexcool. My goal would be to use a need release filter in my setup but the balancer is only compatible with the green coolant.
The biggest problem with Dexcool is that it didnt last as long as GM hyped it for. Its part of the ongoing process of GM creating a revenue stream for things they can license, like the new Dexos approved oils.
I have 94k on my truck with the stock pads. The key is to removes the stanless clips from the caliper breacket and clean them and the surface they sit against. I use a silicon brake lube under the clips and on the tabs of the pads to slow the rust. You also need to dry fit the pads before...
Dont know much about the Amsoil but I can say the Wix is a great oil filter and the AC is a midline product at best anymore. Personally, I run a Baldwin or a Mobil 1 filter.
The flasher looks just like that one, I doubt I am going to pop for the new one at $50. for asome reason it works fine with my trailer lamps that are LED and my mirrors. I may just try the fronts or the rears on the truck and see what happens.
I am in the process of converting over to LED on my truck. In order to replace the turn signals I will need to make sure the flasher is electronic since a thermal flasher will not work with LED. I found the flasher unit under the steering panel and it is marked that it is for a trailer pkg...
They supposedly "fixed" my 99 1/2 ton at the dealer, a year later I removed the left sensor and broke it because it was rusted in so bad. I ended up eating 2 sensors and the time to do the job correctly, best I can tell, the dealer pull the rotor, checked for codes and put some of the zinc spray...
