Seriously, unless there's something wrong with it, leave it on. I'd say it's not hurting anything (on a gasser), and the cat can probably flow more than the engine could ever dream of. It's not a supercharged, worked 6.0L putting down 500+HP :).

I had the cats off my Cougar for a while, and it really made no difference (and that's a V8).
