6.5 diesel no fuel

Have a 6.5 diesel took the fuel solenoid out turn the ignition on fuel flowed out of it took the plunger out reinstalled it took the top off the pump turn the ignition on and no fuel flows out of itI'm

Lift pump in the frame rail supplies fuel to the IP. The IP has a rotary vane fuel pump in the nose for a DB2 and I don't recall on the DS4 where that boosts the 5 PSI to higher pressures in the IP. In summery the lift pump can't push fuel past the rotary vane pump in the IP unless the engine's running. Don't run the engine with the pump top off...

You are playing with fire taking the top of the pump off. You can lock the throttle wide open on a DB2 if you don't put the top on properly. Have a board to shut the air off to the engine if it runs away on startup.

It's best to describe your problem in as much detail as possible as well as what you have tried. We don't know what year we are even working on.

And absolutely, under no circumstances use any part of Your body to shut off the air in event of a run away engine.
