I just Changed the Fuel Filter On my Truck, and whenever I'm Working In an Area, I Look around the whole Area and Check Things Out, See if I Notice anything Outta Whack...and boy did I See something.

This "Clip" Holds the Passenger Side Battery + / - Cables, and another Small Wire to the Frame so they don't Shake around or Hang Loose. Upon further Inspection, I Saw the Metal Clip was Partially Rubbing through the Jacket On the Cables. So I Unbolted the Clip, and Chucked it. I Secured the Harness another way that I felt was good.

So Check this Spot On your Truck ASAP!! There are +12v Cables, and Ground Cables that are Ran Through this Clip.

you guys think this may be an LBZ only issue?

Wonder if the wiring is the same on older year model Duramax trucks...

They seem to be pretty engine generation specific on the wire looms. That doesn't necessarily mean it's not the same in an LB7 or LLY but I've noticed alot of cable differences between them.

I dunno, because this is the Power Harness to the Passenger Side Battery, and there was also another 12 or 14 Gauge Wire In the Harness also.

I guess I'll be looking at mine tomorrow after work...it's over ten years old now so no telling how mine looks if it is even the same setup...

Even without Pulling the Wheel Liner, just Look In the Pass Side Wheel Well. If you See the Big Fat Harness Running Across the Top of the Shock Tower, or Popping Through the Wheel Well Liner or Forward of the Shock Tower, you got.

I Taped each one up a lil more Past the Loom. Then Taped them all Together as a Whole. There is a Plastic Dart the Hooks around the Harness and goes Through the Well Liner up near the Arch of the Liner, so that is Holding the Weight of them for now.

Well I took a look today and sure enough the wire loom had pulled out of the clamp. Did not have any real rubbing of the wires inside. Inside I believe is two ground wires and the wire to the block heater. I removed the factory clamp and replaced it with a NAPA 784665 clamp. I captured the wires only and not the plastic wire loom.

Napa Site is Down for me. Maybe I'll go Tomorrow and get that Clamp to Add some Holding Power to it.

Thanks for the P/N.
