well I put on the Timbrens today...
They are definitely not for trucks with the sulastics shackles...IMO
The rubber is too tall and the truck
empty sits on them...I think it even raised the rear of the truck from being level to
ever so slightly higher than level...you can feel the road more...all of it!
I just went and hooked up the trailer and it didn't even squat...so trailering (2/3's my driving) it seems will do betterand without the weight lifting off the front torsions it should control the loads better...I'll know more tomorrow when I put it on the interstate and then next Tuesday on my longer haul day...
I think if the rubber spring were shorter or if the sulastics weren't on there they wouldn't be preloaded on the rear axle...
does anyone know if on a stock truck the timbrens ride preloaded on the rear axle?
I think I'm going to give Timbren a call to see if they could find a solution I think we need the rubber to be shorter...
I wonder if they have that exact same rubber maybe an inch and a half to 2 inches shorter...
Ed once you put yours on let me know as well ...
on edit: I wonder if my stock springs could have sagged this much...I leave my work trailer hooked most of the time...hmmmm.
...also wondering if the timbrens could be cut down some....
