Before I completely tear something up,how the heck does the sending unit connector come off?? I'm removing the fuel tank on my Suburban and I have everything removed except that darn wire.:mad2::mad2:

IIRC, there is a connector over the axle on the (cross)frame

Yes. Easier to see from the front of the crossmember, with a flashlight.
