Truck Lost Power for a few seconds.

Was towing a U-Haul trailer (6x12) down the interstate through W.Va. at about 70mph. I started up a fairly long steep grade when the tranny kicked down, everything is going fine and then the truck feels like I let off on the accelerator pedal. After a few seconds the truck starts working just fine. This happened again a few minutes later.

I was watching the gauges real close so when the second event happened I got this information.

70 mph, Tow/Haul mode, cruise control, oil pressure 70lbs, boost never exceeded 22 lbs, EGT's 800*, RPMs 2500, SES light came on, Codes=P0101 MAF sensor perf.), P0234 (Over Boost).

I don't get it, I know there are guys running boost way over 22lbs, isn't this stock pressure? What gives? Any ideas? Check sig for mods.

Those 2 codes shown up in real cold weather a couple of times if I lean on it too hard but it usually includes an IAT code with it. These sensors DO NOT LIKE heavy loads and near 0*. Doubt if it was that cold there. Tuner hiccup?

When's the last time you Changed the Fuel Filter & Allison Spin-On?

You Check the MAF to see if it's Dirty?

I've seen that over boost code with a leaky intercooler boot, which is fairly common.

When I had the Edge I would get that overboost code going up big hills with a trailer. Boost was about the same as yours too.

Those 2 codes shown up in real cold weather a couple of times if I lean on it too hard but it usually includes an IAT code with it. These sensors DO NOT LIKE heavy loads and near 0*. Doubt if it was that cold there. Tuner hiccup?

It wasn't 0* it was about 26 according to the temp sensor on my mirror and that U-Haul was nowhere near my 5ver weight wise. I've towed my 5ver in the dead of winter for a lot longer which is why I am perplexed.

No kiddin'? I will defintely check for obvious leaks, but it seems like if the boot was leaking I wouldn't get enough boost.

Banks usually engineers their products with safety in mind and as a result tends to make their tuners on the conservative side...at least with the first Gen tuners (OTTO Mind) that are single-tune harness types. Did you fix it, or did you get rid of the Edge?

I changed both about 1500 miles ago, along with all the fluids and other filters oil and pre-OEM fuel filter. I haven't checked the MAF for dirt, but I just replaced the MAF about 1.5 years ago and I use the stock AC Delco filter with a few holes in the stock box.

while you are thinking intercooler...did you look to see if your power steering hose has the rub through wear on the intercooler tube? could just be a pin hole right now...

Good point Paul! I had forgotten all about that issue. I will check that in the morning...unless we have 6" of snow...no garage yet...

My work truck is a LLY, I had the same problem. Checked the fuel psi was low, changed fuel filter and problem stopped.
