I hope this is the right forum to ask. I got a "warning" at the other site for posting in the wrong place.

I'm looking at getting a boost valve for my 03 Duramax. I realize that the Kennedy is adjustable, but I don't really want to have to install a boost gauge in addition to my Attitude Monitor. Will the $30 PPE do the job? I'm not looking to drag race my truck or anything, just looking to get a bit better performance driving and towing.

Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks.

I have the PPE valve..some guys have said that they don't "feel" an increase in a totally stock dmax, most see a increase with some type of tuner, and possibly other mods, i.e. exhaust, cai ect..You should see a bump in boost, i.e from about 22-24 psi to 26-28 psi, having a boost gauge will tell.

Hope this helps in some way.

Well it will probably hit more but I let out of it a little early, taking it alittle easy on the trans. But not anymore getting it built in a couple of weeks!!! Hammer did your truck have the oh intercooler tube rub hole in it? I need to check mine for that this week to make sure it doesnt been bothering since I saw alot of people had this problem.

Thanks guys. I think I'll probably just go with the PPE and see how it works. I'll be sure to update the thread once I get it in and tested out.

ive had the ppe for about 2 months.....i have a predator too...now on 65 hp.....what a difference...def quicker to speed...and i LOVE the sound of the turbo while backing out of the driveway... lol

great mod for only 30 bucks

Does anyone know of a good place to buy the PPE Valve? I looked at the PPE Website. They want 14 bucks to ship a tiny piece of metal. That doesn't sound right to me. Any forum sponsors that ship em for a reasonable about?

Chad,

I got my boost valve today. MAN! What a difference! Took me less than 5 minutes to install, best 30 some bucks I ever spent on my truck. I usually drive in level 3 on my Edge Juice, but I might have to turn it down to 1 or 2 now because of how responsive it made my truck. The throttle is so responsive its a lot like driving around in level 5. Thanks so much for the quick shipping and awesome price. I'll be sure to send anybody who asks about it your way. Thanks again.

Too bad that unit is for an LB7...I have the LBZ and would like to try one...
I have the Kennnedy stick now and a gauge...not getting much boost, but it goes pretty good.

not able to do a boost valve on an lbz, as you dont have a hose from your turbo to your wastegate that i am aware of

I was wondering that as I was typing...I'm not getting a whole lot of boost.
Maybe it's because I'm trying to get mileage instead of romping on it...LOL

so im running the ATS epower tuner (almost the same as PPE Hot ET) which increases boost also, will i still notice a difference with the boost valve or is it not necessary because of the tuner?
