I don't have internet access or a lot of time so here i am at my parents house today and BAM i have to move just glad i had enough boxes on hand and a 6.5 suburban to carry them all in:sifone:

Tim, just a thought here, we could organize the parts/tools by area of the truck. For instance, injection system would have the various bought and home-made tools.

Well thats my idea of the day.
 
I just got off the bus. I was so busy working on my truck I just about didn't catch the bus thread. It's a pretty quite over there. So are they shuting down the 6.5 section over there or will we still be able to search?
 
Hey Noticed something funny. Everyone was worried about the new owners over at DP plastering it with google ads, canning the 6.5 sec etc. Well none of that happended.....BUT has anyone notice that alot of newbies are finding the site and asking the stupidest questions I have ever seen ? I mean listen every one starts out somewhere as a newbie and you can even maybe have the slightest sympathy for"Help, my truck is stalling" because in reality that is a legitimate technical question and although beat to death and may prove laziness not searching first it still is what brought a good percentage of folks to DP. But posts like "How should I wash my engine ?" or "What kind of wheel is this ?" just makes ya wanna say why am I still on this site? Anyway like most I've been bouncing back and forth but once this place gets more active I may slowly leave DP. I guess what I am trying to say is does anyone else feel like the new owners are promoting the site a little too much and some what degrading what used to be an excellent source for quality techincal discussion ?
Any way that's my .02

I'm done with DP. I was there for 2 sec. today and thats it!
 
I find that the off topic stuff isn't getting moved as quickly as it used to. That $7 per gallon thread would have been outta there long ago. A few other threads like that have been left in the 6.5 section instead of being moved.

That's cause I'm in Borneo, I was the "prime mover," so to speak moving OT stuff; as when I'm home I have 2 puters up & running during the day, work and home puter so I can keep eyeball on things & move them during the day, Kev & Jif would cover "night watch", kinda a bad time for me to be out of country midst of the turnover there. Hope to be home midweek next week.
 
Yep... and JiF has been buried deep at work for the past week or two, with no immediate end in sight. That means a lot of crap just sits until I get around to it.

Not great.

And the noobies were always there, mixed in with the dumb questions... the big difference was, we used to have more guys saying "have you filled out the checklist" or "have you used the search"?

Now we seem to have a higher proportion of guys saying "change this part...".

I'm gonna crap on some of them soon... and I better not see much of that over here; the best way to avoid that is to never let it start.
