What to get off a parts truck?

Talked to the guy quickly. No fenders, no doors, no bed. I thought he said no hood, but not sure. The radiator is there, I'll probably be grabbing the seat for my self. Don't know if the intake tubing is there if there are no fenders. Not sure on the bumpers. Gray interior. Good fuel tank too. He is going to get me some pictures. He is familiar with diesels, and a little familiar with the 6.5, so he knows what stuff is worth and is trying to finance a race motor for his car. So, I won't getting this stuff for nothing, but I also don't think he is out to gouge me.
Also, he said the reason it became a parts truck was because they said it had a rap. His friend who works on diesels listened to it and said it didn't sound like the motor was bad though. I'm going to get it running before I take anything off of it first. If I can.

Well, I know I posted this a while ago, but I finally got the truck. I'm out trying to start it right now. No luck yet.

what color wire goes to the starter that I need to jump it. The ignition isn't turning it over, but it is getting power though.

Back to topic. It has no doors, fenders, hood, bumpers, grill or bed. Once I figure out what I am doing with it, I'll post in the classified for what is left, and I will be making a list of what everyone has already requested.
Cab is practicaaly mint, but no title, optherwise, I'd probably put it back together.

If that thing was 4X4 you could turn it into a rock crawler. ):h

Looks like it was in decent shape!

Nope, 2WD otherwise I would be taking the parts off of my gasser and be putting the plow on it. The original owner I guess is very meticulous with all of his trucks. They pay his salary, so he takes good care of them. That is why this one is just a skeleton. He took everything he needed to make his other trucks better.
On a side note, I got it started. Just needed a couple of fuses underhood, and after charging the batteries, it cranked right over. and fired up. Not bad considering the guy that I got it from has been in possession of it for over two years, and it sat for a couple of years before that.
Only problem is it is rapping like mine. I loosened all of the injector lines, and it still rapped. Someone listened to it before and said it wasn't the bottom end though, and that it was an injector. I don't know if I should buy a set of injectors just to try it out or not. That is probably what I am going to do for mine, so maybe I'll put them in here first. Time to go looking for that elusive money tree.

Between the 2 of them you should have plenty of injectors that don't rapp. Can't hurt to buy another set if you plan on keeping yours no matter what the noise is, but you have more than enough to swap around with to try to see if injectors is the culprut. Stinks both your rigs have the same rap, Hopefully its nothing major.

As far as the money tree, I spent another couple hours under my truck today, and I can guarantee you this, its not under there. :)

I may be a little late here, but..The duct work that supplies the turbo fresh air, running thru the fender to the marker light.... (W/out snorkel of course)

Thanks

Nope. The plastic duct work that was attached to the fender went with the fender. All that is left is an elbow with about a 3" round opening on one side, and a smaller oval on the other end. The rest is gone.

Reminds me of an old episode of Happy Days. (Are there any new episodes?)
Anyway, Howard was trying to fix the Christmas lights. You know, the ole' one goes out they all go out thing. Well, he had a bulb in his hand that he was trying in every socket and still no luck. Well, Fonzie came along and pointed out that the bulb he had in his hand might be bad. That was the problem, he grabbed a bad bulb and kept trying that. Fonzie is so cool. With my luck, I would grab the bad injector out of the 8, and use that one on the other motor, go through all 8, then have to grab another from the first motor and start all over.
Oh, and the money tree isn't in my garage either at least not that I could find. I still have a lot of cleaning to do though, so I haven't given up all hope.
