What set up do you guys use? Just a ball mount with a pin threw it or is there a better way? :smile5:

Would something like this be safer and/or work better long term?

most of our wagons have htiches like this.. so we run a single 1" bar with a hitch pin and wire/pin to keep the hitch pin bounceing out

i know some wagons run a single bar and in that case you would need some thing similar to what you have posted

anytime I pull anything on my brother-in-laws farm, I use a solid receiver and always make sure the pin has a wire or key in it so it doesnt bounce out.

I have thought about getting a reese hitch adapter that has dampers/springs in it.

That's all I've ever seen or owned. Most of them you can only fit a 5/8 pin so we use REAL good ones (the red handle type) and ALWAYS put the hairpin clip in.

Drew, I've had a couple of trucks in the past with a DMI bumper with cushion hitch and that was great except they are only Class IV rated and you can't fit your spare underneath. What I believe you're talking about is a Schuck hitch that fits in your receiver. I was going to get one but I don't actively custom bale or pull grain wagons anymore so I didn't. If I was still at it, I'd get one for sure.

all of ours have the double tongue, so it is the biggest pin we can fit and a pin to keep it in.

I rarely tow a wagon with my truck so that is all I use.
I have towed a loaded forage wagon with it don't think I would do it o a regular basis though.
