Got in the truck this morning to head to work, started it and walked around to get the newspaper to throw it in the garage... noticed that the exhaust was changing from blub-blub-blub to hisssss over and over again.

Pulled out of my driveway, the CEL comes on and it won't go over 2,000 rpm. :mad2: I haven't pulled the code yet, but everything sure points to that stupid sensor.

Needless to say, I turned around and rode the bike to work.

pull the code and let me know what it is. there is a pi that was released last fall addressing a p2563 turbo control position code.

That was it. I reset the code and it ran fine all weekend. Should I still replace the sensor?

Well, I drove home from Satelite Beach out by Patrick AFB on the east coast today with P2563 again... no boost, no go and black smoke every time I take off from a dead stop.

When it idles, the solenoid is opening and closing the VNT constantly. Looks like tomorrow I'll have to find someplace with that stupid sensor.

P/N is 12635324... GMpartsdirect has it listed for $408, but it's special order and has an additional $90 S&H takced on when you go to checkout. No one else online has had one, not rockauto, napa, etc.

Normally, I'd search around for a cheaper price but school starts again today and I need my truck back running properly asap. It has absolutely no beans and will smoke out an intersection the way it sits.

Maybe try to score a used one from someone selling there stock turbo?

That's crazy..

My old roommate (Brandon, 07HDClassic) had to replace his on his LBZ, he was able to shop around and get it for less than that. I think he has a thread about it on here.

Did you check the price at: http://www.buygmpartsworldwide.com/

yourbest bet is to buy a used lbz turbo off ebay and just use the sensor out of it. your can find them for a couple hundred bucks sometimes unless you have a buddy at a dealership that will warranty it for you.

That was it.

Replaced the overpriced sensor (in all of 5 minutes), cleared the codes and it was instantly back to normal.

OUTRAGEOUS! 6 bills !:icon_bs:

OT

Ever been to Sun on the Beach in Satellite??? Great biscuits n gravey! ):h

Dammit, it's still not running right. Acceleration is not what it was before, still get black smoke at WOT and the IAT appears to be showing high. Not sure if boost is up where it should be.

It threw a P0402 this morning, but I think that's becasue I had the resonator off yesterday to replace the sensor.

Grady, is it possible to get to a dealer. If so, have them hook a tech 2 up to it and go under the special functions to control the turbo. They can command the vain back and forth. This will make sure the vain actuator is working and the unison ring is able to turn. The unison ring is what the vains are hooked to. The actuator pushes on a lever internal of the turbo and it in turn pushes this ring. The ring can get rusted right to the turbo housing if not driven that hard or if it sits a bit. I have seen it on more than one occasion.
