Swapping a 6.5 NA legally, ecm questions

Yup, get it in writing. You won't be confined to the engines specs but to the specs of the truck it's in.

Say I have my 95 k1500 to get checked and it has an engine in it out of a 3500 w/ the tag on valve cover. I bet you money they take my Vin/gvw and test off of it unless you have paperwork showing otherwise.

Now if you were to switch to a 70's model car then you might not get checked as tough.

Technically it's a violation of federal law to modify the emissions equipment on every car; the issue is some places like Phx and LA actually check. I could register it outside of Maricopa county, but I am actually trying to do this legally. It will be worth a lot more someday if it was legal. Hey wait a minute... What am I talking about? S-10's are dirt cheap. I could register in flagstaff, drive the wheels off it, then yank my 6.5 and throw the rest away. Just kidding, im still going to try do to it legally.
 
I live in Toronto Canada and i do the test every 2 years. I have never failed but i came close when my turbo had leaks in the accordian tubes several years back.I just squeaked by. I have since fixed all that and more. My last test was the best ever 0,0,0. I have to go again this year in July. We will see if the FTB and a Raptor pump changes anything. I haven't done anything else.
