It doesn't crank it long enough to start it on these cold days. I just bought the truck last January, and it was only here for a few weeks before going south to escape winter, but I remember the remote start worked when it was cold then. It also worked in the summer. Just seems now that it's cold, the crank time is very short, obviously not long enough to start.

I can start it fine with the key, just gotta hold it an extra second.

Is the crank time adjustable on these things? Maybe something got reset when I replaced the batteries?? The new batteries are 1000CCA's each, and thats higher than what was in there before.

Ideas? thanks

yes it is adjustable, return to the place that put it on, and show the what it does..

I don't know where the PO had it done and can't find his number.

What brand of remote start?

The clickers say Viper, should I be looking for a "brain" under the dash with a scroll wheel or is it going to be some combination of timed key holding with pedal push headlight flashing?

It will be next to impossible to give instructions through the forum. You would need the exact model of viper that it is ,then instructions could be found.. The simplest way is still to find a dealer, and hire them to do it.There used to be a number for Viper on the remotes, call it and they will give you the nearest dealer.
