Consider relative pressures. Cylinder pressure due to compression before the fire starts isn't that significant in comparison to pressures after.

Nice work Will. I have a set of precups on the way that I plan to get machined out a little larger. Then I'll coat the top and inside. wont get used for several months though.
 
Let me know if it works,next time I have my heads off I might try it also.
