Glad to be here fellas, but I have a problem with my morror to address:confused5: My right side mirror will move sometimes, right now its stuck all the way out. Any idea's where I should start for troubleshooting?

Give it a gentle shove back in a bit and see if it will retract. If so then run it all the way in and back out several times.

There's also a little clutch adjustment inside the mirror that may need to be tightened. I fought this continually on my '03 and two new mirrors installed on warranty. Didn't help much...

Best solution that I had was spraying the rubber boots with 303 pretty often to keep them soft. Seemed to make just enough difference so they'd work most times.

HTH

my right side mirror did the same thing this winter. i think there must have been some moisture in there causing problems when it was cold. i just shoved it in when it wouldn't retract. worked fine after it warmed up a bit. don't have that problem any more with my new tow mirrors.

I give mine a little bump and the work great after that...any one got lube points w/pics and lube suggestions please post-...good sticky-just a thought

i think you have to take the mirror off, pop the mirror out so you can get the plastic expanding piece off, then clean and grease. there was a thread on some other site, but i can't remember who posted it. they might be over here already.

New mirrors are a low priority right now. I will take the mirror apart and lube. I'll try and rememer to take pics too. :smileydan:

I make sure to move the mirrors in and out quite often. I try not to keep them in the same position very long and have had no issues. I live on a gravel road, so they do get pretty dirty.

My 05 camper mirrors did the same a LONG time ago...Passenger side would extend but not retract unless I had someone to give it a push.

I like the new mirrors a lot.

what is the difference between the two?

The '06 mirrors are not the accordian style. They are similar to the ford mirrors: View here gm parts direct.
I did not do it as a link cause I was not sure if it was ok.
