PASS LOCK SECURITY SYSTEM

1999 GMC K2500 4x4 289k miles. Second owner. Is there anyway to completely bypass the GM PassLoc system. I’ve replaced ignition switches, put in resistors to trick the system. It takes too long, possibly 2-4 seconds, for the security light to go off before it will start.

The resistor bypass only replaces the signal the passlock module wants.
Passlock is still working.
The SECURITY lamp will normally go out along with the WTS lamp.
That should not cause any additional wait time.
AK is correct, you can have the security turned off by a PCM reprogram.
A 1997 PCM from a similar diesel will also work, no security.

PO of my 99 Suburban cut the wires but it also disabled / killed the OBD II communication. Impossible to read codes, monitor engine performance (limited readouts anyway). But, it explained why it would run if I swapped in my 1996 tune.
Pro Tip, Don't be like the Previous Owner.
