After asking n8in8or about his fuel system the other day, I realized that I never updated my post from mid 2017 where I was asking turbo questions.

I got the truck together later that year and got to shake it down before winter (when it got parked). Over the winter, I had a real Holset 56mm wheel and housing put on the cko. I also enlarged the w/g to 13/16" and had the turbine exducer housing bored 2mm to reduce drive pressure. After loosening the w/g tension the boost peaks @14psi on long hard pulls. Fuel system is stock with the 4911 cranked tight. The truck works great- egt and ect are easy to control with 1200deg being possible only on slow steep climbs with 7+ tons in tow. I put about 6k miles on it last summer, including a 830 mile round trip into Ontario pulling the camper. I am considering a stage 1 DevilsOwn water/meth system for next year as I feel I could use more fuel above 2,400rpm, but I wouldn't be able to use it when towing without some water to keep egt down. So water first, maybe more fuel later!

I wanted to keep the turns in the intake system to a minimum. My airbox requires the air to make 180 degrees of turn before the wheel (90 out of the inner fender and 90 after the filter) instead of four 90s with the popular aftermarket setups. The upper intake allowed me to angle my piping to keep it as straight as possible after the cac. I feel that my upper intake setup probably gives a more even distribution of air than the Penninsular setup (my opinion Only!). These pics were from the original build. You may notice the "Turbone" housing and unfinished connections.

The core is 24x12x3. The top of the end diffusers (tanks?) JUST fits between the frame rails.

Ok,thanks. Been looking on ebay ,but they just have overall length.

. . . 7+ tons in tow.

Am curious . . . 14K# combined weight, or just the trailer?

If it is just the trailer, that is arguably a bit heavy for a 6.5. So plan on paying close attention to maintenance and increase the budget accordingly. Saw where somebody did hot-shots at that weight level, the crank snapped, and he re-powered with a DMax.

Just the trailer. It's a lot for the whole truck! I only move that much twice a summer typically, and it's local (60 mile round trip). 10k is a more common load. Brakes, steering, and suspension upkeep is mandatory.
