i know the first thing i'll get it did you search and yes i did. i'm curious as to how one would perform an optic bump(i know you have to move the sensor maybe a dime's width) and what tools i'd need. i'm wondering if a scanner is needed and what i'd have to remove to get to the location of the optical sensor. if i've got to remove a lot of stuff it's not getting done, at lesat not yet. i've been reading it gives you more power and can also give better mileage and at $4.89 a gallon i need all the MPGs i can get. thanks everyone.

Ok, I won't say search it out. Let me dig it up. I have to say, I had the bump and undid it after a couple weeks. I prolly didn't have the knack for doing it. Throttle response was like my old paint horse with a burr under the saddle.

I've been told by a reputable person at Heath Diesel that the optic bump is a no-no.

works for me, it was more so an idea to occupy my time anyways. any idea why its considered a big no-no? i'm guessing it has either something to do with the heath reflashes or just shouldn't be done in general.

I'm not really sure, but it was explained to me (I didn't quite understand). Basically, if Bill says don't do it to a 6.5, then I'm not doing it.
