When my truck was still under warranty my oil pressure sending unit quit working. Gauge would either be 0 or 80. The dealership fixed it. Now today my gauge is doing the same thing. Is this an issue with GM nowadays?? 2 sending units going bad, each lasting about 25,000 miles? I've read a little about how to replace it and it doesn't sound fun. If it's going to keep failing I'm not going to spend the money anymore replacing it.

where are they pulling it from? side of the block or on top in back???

get a replacement sending unit from autometer, not the parts store; will last waaaay longer

it's apparently located on the back of the block just below the intake manifold. My main issue is why did it fail twice? Apparently the GM part is no good.

I know on the 3800's when the sender fails it fails fully open, pegging the gauge at 120 PSI. It's a common issue, but it's not too hard to get at, and happens at 100-150k.
