My son bought a military blazer D-10 with 6.2L detroit motor. He was driving and he stoped at a stop sign, when he started to go it has no power. we changed the fuel pump and still have the same problem. i would like to get this working soon. if anyone out there can give me some advice on this or a fix please let me know what to do next..by the wat it a 1985..
thanks for any suggestions.

:welcome8: we're addictive around here

how much fuel is in the tank and how old is it?

when was the last fuel filter change?

any other symptoms, (black smoke, rough idle, missing,)?

don't worry, these engines are a breeze to work on. quirky but easy :D

Welcome, nice to have another d series vehicle(i have d30)

No power could be many things. Clogged sock is likely. Make sure to put a clear line on the return side of the pump. This wil let you see any air bubbles that are in the system.

And BTW no matter what year your truck is parts are for a 1983(government only wanted one type of parts on hand) small differences are in electrical connectors

the tank sock is inside the fuel tank on the end of the pickup. the only way to access it is to drop the tank and removing the ring where the lines go into the tank. you can try blowing it off by running compressed air back down the main fuel line. you don't need alot of pressure to do it.

how did the fuel/filter look when you changed them? any sign of contamination or algae growth?
bad smelling fuel can also be a clue
