Hello All,

Hello from Yonkers NY! Followed a few guys here from the DP Forum and am looking forward to learning and contributing whenever I am able to.

Our 98 Tahoe 6.5TD (the "Beast") is, currently, sitting in our driveway, awaiting a head job... Ummm, let me rephrase that... with a leaking head gasket. Been too busy to begin with the most boring part of the project -- lifting the engine out.

We don't do any heavy towing, just the occasional trailer for a neighbor or friend to pickup firewood or wood pellets.

Anyhow, currently running around with a 2006 Avalanche 1500 4x4 equipped with a 5.3 gasser (yeah, I know, I know... but I get 20 mpg on the highway with it...).

See you folks out there!

Regards,
Franko

Welcome to Diesel Towing Resource!

The Avalanche is a great vehicle. I had a 2003 and loved it. The 5.3 is a decent motor for a gasser.

Franko!! Good ta see ya!

Welcome to the DTR, buddy - you just found yourself the best 6.5 site around, and also the best bunch of guys on the 'net!

Browse around, poke your head in on things, and when you're ready to get some head (for 'the beast' :D), just open a thread and get after it!

Jeez, a little late but I guess you made it...........Like I said, "much better here"

Thanks, Louis. Without a doubt, man, without a doubt. Never got around to checking out your towmonster. Never got around to having lunch together while I was in your neighborhood. If you ever noticed a red Avalanche parked near or in front of Ruby Weston Manor on Linden Blvd, that was mine. Great truck, but my kids and I sure miss the "Beast" which I will, hopefully, start working on in a couple of months. I'll be using head studs from Summit Racing. Later, Louis...
