Well dad just got a new truck 2006 GMC 2500HD with the 6.0liter gasser its an ext cab short bed an I have to say im loving everything about it, but the darn torque management! My question is what is the best chip to rid of the torque management? Ive heard HP tuners are good, but has anyone ever done this here? I have to say I love the Dmax, but ive got to get a 6.0liter for myself):h

Ill have pics as soon as i can.

The 6.0 is a great engine. From the factory it is greatly detuned, and custom tune is the best way to wake them up. I get great highway mileage with mine, not as great towing, but it gets the job done.

From what i have read the diablo predator will really wake up the 6.0liter for what you pay for it.

finally got some pics of the truck being home.

Nice...! I've always been partial to GMC's myself. You read correctly that the Predator really can work wonders on those 6 liters. I've heard nothing but good things from my friends who tuned theirs. Most importantly, it gets rid of the tq management which WILL help a ton. Its hands down, the best bang for the buck and priced very well too. Our vendors here will take care of you when you're ready to buy.

Havent been on in a while, just wanted to say the truck is running good! Dads looking at getting a brake controller an a chip to pull the job trailer an the dump trailer!

Thats what i figured on getting, my friend has a reese an it sucks!

Im really thinking of getting a 6.0liter over the 6.6l just because of the price difference! do you all think its smart idea? I will be hauling hay wagons an various farm equipment!

Well lets see. I had a 2000 6.0/4L80 RCLB. I liked it and had a DMI bumper. Hauled wagons pretty well. Then an '03 8.1/A RCLB that hauled wagons even better. Next was an '05 ECSB D/A that REALLY hauled wagons... Current D/A is the same but yeah, if $ is the issue, and you aren't looking for superior mileage and 300k out of your motor, then a 6.0 gasser would work just fine. Young guy like you with limited income, it's hard to justify the big outlay.

well thats what ive been thinking the 6.0liter is a work horse an a great motor an there a heck of alot cheaper then the Dmax thats why im leaning that way!

The 6.0 has more hp and almost the same torque as the vortec 454's IIRC. They are a good reliable engine. Don't be afraid to rev them to 5,000rpm when you need to, they can handle it.
