New GP override

FWIW
I would mount the glow plug controller in it's original location, and make a couple of heavy wires to go to the override solenoid. The 1993 glow plug controllers use engine heat from both bolts to decide when to turn on for starting and how long to stay on via an internal temp sensor. The PCM controlled units don't use engine heat or care as temps are measured elsewhere. The 1998 era units use a kick out switch but still care about engine temp for glow time. I digress as we are overriding their decisions biased on heat anyway... The GP controller is heavy enough to require two bolts due to engine vibration.

The 5.7, 6.2, and 6.5 are known to generate an extreme amount of vibration. The weight of this design is going to break it up from vibration esp if only held on by one bolt.
I have had parts vibrate loose inside of these controllers that were soldered in and glued down, circa 1988, from the vibration. I recently even had the glow plug controller harness plug fall apart.
Mounting on the firewall will eventually break the wires from engine movement and vibration. IMO maybe last longer than the GP plastic body failing from the weight/vibration or mounting ear metal snapping off. The GM wires appear to make 200K and only rub through the insulation...

Thanks WW, I'll look into somekind of bracket, but don't think is a problem now. Can't mount in stock location because of size/space considerations.
The advantage of this kit is it what I call "idiot proof" (like a group of connectors close together that only go back one way) This relay simply gets nuted down to the stock relay, run one wire and its done! no wiring/relays to figure out.
It works on all relays like our trucks have

i like the looks of it and the simplicity. if/when i redo mine, it will be one of these.
